UP: Got an interview for a contract position, and it's over the phone so no trekking across London, yay!

IA: It's for the language I'd like to move away from, not the one I'd like to move to. Plus the pay's lower than anything I've been paid in the last 2 1/2 years.

UP/IA: It's a 3-week gig, and I can work from home for most of it. (No commute, but have to deal with whiny cat at home ;))

At the very least, if I get it, it'll pay for my income in February, so that's a bonus.

IA:  Despite loads of practicing, I made lots of mistakes at open mic night last night.  Mostly because most of my practice time was spent on one piece I was determined to play, so the other pieces didn't get as much time spent on them.

The other reason was I was both nervous and excited (that means way too much adrenaline pouring into me) because....

UP:  There were TWO other harpers there!  Both my new friend I met last time and a gentlemen I actually met once before at a workshop.  Plus a friend of ours who hadn't been there in ages was there and she is quite an accomplished Irish flute player.

True, I definitely am a very harsh critic toward myself.

UP: We went to the Harrogate Turkish Baths as a Valentine's treat (Friday immediately following Valentine's Day) - where I learnt that my swimsuit has become too big for me - I had to keep tugging it up the upper back bit (halter-style tankini top) because it's not tight enough.

IA: Swimsuit shopping (albeit mail order...order & return, order & return, order & return...)
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

LOL - it would have if it had not been for the halter bit keeping it up around my neck in the front at least!  :P

UP: DS actually went and looked at a promising-sounding bungalow in our neighborhood.

IA: Although it looked good in the pics online, lots of things were less than satisfactory, e.g. olive green bathroom suite with no shower, 2nd bathroom (blue suite) had a shower but no adult could stand up in it, creepy built-ins in the master bedroom, gas fire in sitting room temperamental -- and vastly overpriced  :(

IA:  Nasty skunk smell in the area when I took the wheeliebin to the street this morning.
UP:  My door-dashing cat had no piece of the action.

UP: I got a job interview! My first one in the UK, very exciting and nerve wracking! I really want this job, not only because I need a job badly but because it's a brand I am really passionate about and it seems like a fun job. After six years working jobs I hate, I am really hoping it works out for me!

IA: It's not for another month! Which means if I am offered another job in the meantime, I have to make a big decision, to take the job I am offered or wait for the interview, which I may not get the job in the end  :-\\\\ Ugh!
