I'd have been raging.

Well, he meant well. He has worked there a long, long time and has a higher position than me, so he was just trying to help. Anyway, the supervisor was nice as ninepence when I came back from the dentist. I see your point, and I thought about being upset about it, but I didn't want to argue with him.

I'm sure he did mean well, and for that reason I also wouldn't have wanted to fight with him about it.
But the insinuation that I am unable to fight my own battles, stick up for myself, etc would have made me very angry.

He knows I can fight my own battles, I don't think it was about that, really. He sits right across from my supervisor and really can't stand him, so I think it was just an excuse to have a go at him, really. I did nicely tell DH that while I appreciated his gesture, it was unneccessary, as I had already handled the situation. He apologised for it. So I let it go.

Good stuff then!  :)
I'm just saying that if that had happened to me... i probably would not have handled it as graciously as you did!

Me either- I would have been extremely pissed off...

I know you don't have much choice, but that's a reason why its not fun to work in the same place as your spouse.

Glad it worked out Jewlz.   :)

3 hours of What Not to Wear every morning is awesome. I pretty much get nothing done during those 3 hours.

Not sure at what point we (DH and me) became such social creatures.  I just want to crawl back into bed, or nap on the sofa, and vegetate.  But we have so many things & commitments on for the foreseeable future (until the end of Nov) - I have so many things to do & get ready for!  All fun stuff!  But sometimes I'd just like to relax & chill out in my messy hovel here rather than having to tackle such a formidable to-do list.

I have still not solved the mystery of who was pounding on our front door in the middle of the night.

I noticed that one of my elderly neighbours had not taken her milk in, and it was well past 1 pm, so I called in on her and had a lovely chat with her & another elderly neighbour who was there.

Sadly, the first neighbour's daughter-in-law died on Wednesday, so I don't think she is quite herself & has been sleeping in later.  The other neighbour had already taken her milk in when I arrived.

The first neighbour's daughter-in-law used to help her out a lot.  (Actually it was her ex-DIL because her son & DIL were divorced, but the marriage was a long one, and she still referred to her as her DIL.)  I told my neighbour (who is in her mid- to late 80s) I'll make sure her rubbish bin gets put out each week, and to ring me if she needs help with something.

Anyway, neighbour is ok but bereaved, good conversation, but still don't know who was pounding on the door in the night - probably just as well we didn't answer the door.  :-\\\\

I saw an awesome proposal at the Improv Asylum yesterday. They put a couple on the spot and asked them about the story of them dating, then they did their improv interpretation that ended with them acting out a proposal before turning to the guy and saying "you can probably do this part better." He whipped out the biggest, clearest, most gorgeous stone and ring ever and they got engaged!

IA: it wasn't me being proposed to.

You have to go see a show there sometime! Plus, we're supposed to get together sometime when you come to Boston.  :(

We will - this was a bring-along-husband trip. :) I told him about you when we drove by the exit to Worcester.
