UP: I do love a bit of snow, and given that our house is at the very end of an untreated road, I think it's highly likely I'll be working from home tomorrow.

IA: If the predictions for it to start in the evening are right, it could interfere with my hair colour appointment. And this close to Christmas that would not be an easy thing to reschedule.

UP: My new fridge came and it's lovely!

IA: The deliveryman were two of the most grumpy, bitter, unhelpful, pessimistic, useless, thick and inarticulate gits I've ever had the displeasure of encountering.

Yes! Just in time for Christmas! We won't have the ice- and water-dispenser plumbed in until January, but I'm just happy to have a nice big fridge to store all my Christmas goodies in!

IA: Not sure anything is going to come of it.  :-\\\\

UP:  Last night's and today's snow.
IA:  It was so hazardous walking home from work!  We only got a bit more than a dusting, but since no-one around here knows how to clear their walks and car parks it was a sheet of ice for half a mile!  I fell once, and almost fell a few other times.

IA: If it weren't for all this dang snow, I would have been more than willing to accept that $500 in flight vouchers that Continental offered to me if I were to fly tomorrow instead of today since the flight was overbooked.  It was meant to snow both in NJ and in Glasgow and I probably would have been there until Monday at best.

UP: Even though I'm not the recipient of that would-be-useful voucher, I'm happy to be snuggled up at my parents' house with my old pup and some chinese food.

You're lucky you made it! My friend's flight to Philly today was cancelled.

I really am! When I was waiting at the gate yesterday to board the plane (8AM UK time), there were 2 girls going home to Virginia from a semester abroad.  One was on the phone to her mom trying to see if they could book a train from Newark/NYC, since pretty much all the flights to anywhere south of Delaware had already been canceled.  Right then I knew I made the right choice, but it still had me nervous that my own flight would get re-routed or something!

UP: I actually managed to fit all my Christmas gifts into my checked baggage

IA: I don't have any room for clothes except for my hand luggage. Good thing I'm staying with my parents and they have a washing machine!
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

UP:  A long and lovely chat with the folks today!  The best bit where was Mom got to telling me about how proud she is of what I am doing with my life and what I have accomplished over the last 10 years - at a time when I've been feeling the exact opposite.  Thanks Ma!

IA:  She summed up her complements by comparing me to Sarah Palin!   She thinks the world of Sarah Palin, so it's high praise indeed, but BLEURG  :P

UP: I have wonderful inlaws that I truly love, but...

IA: the pajamas given to me that are two sizes too big are a bit of a self esteem killer.  :-\\\\ Does she really think I'm that big???  :(
