Leaving my parents' house in about an hour  :\\\'( I will miss them so much.

But going home to my husband, who I miss a lot. And our new couch is being delivered in a few hours, so it will be there for me when I get home...

UP: I'm home in Chicago with my parents and nieces and nephew.

IA: The younger niece is cranky and they're playing Wii Fit and I can't sleep!

UP: Opening up my parcel from my aunt yesterday, which was chock full of essentials.

IA: A bunch of the clothes she'd sent me weren't really to my taste-a bit too old lady. Dropped them off at the Shelter charity shop in Nantwich today, though, so, at least they'll have new homes! I was a bit hopeful that I'd be able to use them as pj's, but, they weren't suitable for that, but, they also just weren't right for me at all.

UP: Bought two pairs of pj's at bargain goods which totalled up to 3 pounds and some pence. And MiL gave me a velour dressing gown which is nice and warm and cosy.

IA: DH had to work late tonight and has to open tomorrow, but the icy roads are so trecherous that the commute has nearly doubled, so he's just going to spend the night at our friend's house who live in the town where he works.

UP: I hate to admit it but I sleep like an absolute rock when I've got the bed to myself - particularly when it's this cold and the cats sleep in between us which makes it even more cramped.... I need to win the lottery so I can buy a king sized bed.

IA: Had the worst trip "home" imaginable. And now I'm missing my family and friends.

UP: The end got better - and now I'm home with my husband. We missed each other a lot even though it was only 10 days... It's nice to be home.

IA: We were due to fly out on December 22nd  from Heathrow but due to snow and ice the airport had delays on flights and some people had been stuck at the airport for four days and we were bumped from our flight for two days.

UP: They gave us compensation by putting us up at the Hilton for two days whie waiting for our next flight on December 24th. They also paid for all the meals at the Hilton. They also bumped us up to Business Class seats for the flight over and they also gave us as a family of four £2000 in compensation.  :o  Our original tickets didn't cost that much money. So it was like flying for free to the US.  ;D

I know we were shocked as they wrote out four cheques each for £500 and no problems cashing them either. I know it will probably never happen again either. Although I wouldn't complain if it did.  ;D

UP: there seems to be a new movement here in the US for companies to cut out the high-fructose corn syrup! (for example, Pepsi Throwback)

IA: it seems to be for a limited time only.  ::)

IA: Had a "working interview" at a nursery in Nantwich, that was a disaster from start to finish, waited an extra hour at the bus station amidst the snow flurries, because the bus to take me back to Crewe was broken down, and there wasn't another to take.

UP: Had a phone call just, from another nursery here in Crewe. I'm to interview with them on Thursday at 2pm! *fingers crossed*!

Two for me.

IA: Jiffy Lube scammed me out of $60 for no apparent reason (other than idiocy).

UP: At least my car registration is good through 2011 now, rather than being 7mos overdue. (And the nice man at the DMV didn't suggest any extra charges for being so late, yay!)

UP (Major): My kitty came home!!!! I pulled into my driveway, let my dog out of the car, and there he was.

IA (Minor-ish): Now I have to shell out the money to haul him to England. ;)
