IA: Our inconsiderate, loud & obnoxious next door neighbours were particularly inconsiderate, loud & obnoxious last night and were blasting music and moving furniture at midnight waking up our daughter a few times last night.

UP: Got up this morning & DH said that the same inconsiderate, loud & obnoxious neighbours had in fact moved out because he was out having a cigarette before going to bed and saw them moving telly's & couches & tables out....peace once more.  :D

UP: I didn't think the weather would be this lovely today.  It was a nice stroll to uni this morning.

IA: Yet again, I can't enjoy it because I have to spend all day inside doing work.  :-\\\\

IA:  Right before the ash cloud craziness we had planned on booking a last minute break to  Amsterdam as dh had finally been able to shake free some holiday from his company.

UP:  We had decided through laziness to wait until that weekend to book the trip so aren't out any money and instead will be spending our extra long bank holiday weekend in Inverness.  I've always wanted to see Loch Ness, I guess this was just the right time to do it.  :)

First bank holiday weekend!  We leave the 29th and come back the 4th.  And I'm driving the whole way so this should be interesting.  :)

Oooh lovely.  :) :) Well I don't get back up that way until late 3 May, thanks to the volcano. Otherwise, I could show you around.

I managed to get the last booking at a posh restaurant by the castle for our anniversary next weekend (UP). But now I am feeling guilty for choosing an expensive place (IA). :-\\\\

DH's reaction when he realised where I had booked us in made me feel a bit bad, though he quickly recovered and said it was fine. But now I'm thinking about cancelling the reservation and booking us into the local Italian place we haven't been to yet. Most of my friends say it's great and it isn't too expensive, but a few people I know have said they didn't enjoy it. I'm just not sure what to do. Only the Italian restaurant has a menu online, and the food does look good and reasonably priced. The posh place doesn't have a menu posted, and I expect it's dear. If we go to the Italian place, I'm sure we could afford a bottle of wine and dessert and everything, but I'm afraid if we go to the posh place, I may feel too guilty to order more than just a main meal (but that main meal may be phenomenal, compared to mediocre at the Italian place, for all I know.) Hmmmm.

Why don't you call the posh place and get them to email you a menu AND ask if they're doing evening set menus rather than just the a la carte stuff?

I've had some lovely set menus at restaurants I could have otherwise not afforded and you get several courses and often order things you wouldn't normally which turn out to be delicious :)

Jewlz posting brings up something related to the UK class issue thing.

In the UK if you are 'working class' you don't go to posh restaurants. In the US if you have the cash you go where you want! ::)

I already made up my mind on this one. I found out the posh place is super tiny and all the tables are right close together, so it feels like you are sitting with a bunch of strangers like at a dinner party or something. My DH would really hate that, as he isn't big on restaurants in the first place and he would hate being in a tiny one that was crowded with people he didn't know, so I just made reservations at the other place and hope its good. If not, at least the ambience should be better.  :)

That is waaay too early!  Who got to be the first to sit on it?!  Now you have to have us over, because someone has to be the first to spill red wine on it...  ;)

UP:  DH just saw Eddie Izzard giving an interview outside our little hometown Morrisons!  :o  (Izzard was campaigning for Labour.)

IA:  I didn't go to Morrisons with DH.  :-\\\\  (he didn't go up and talk to him or anything! but was all excited when he got home)
