Could you talk to your supervisor about what you'd like in an internship and how you can secure a good one?

My supervisor for all his good points isn't someone who keeps up on this stuff.  I've put my name forward for a group associated with the University that usually sets up internships for students and I've contacted various groups looking for volunteers about my availability to volunteer at their sites.  I also have a meeting about with someone looking to sponsor a student to get a PhD working in partnership with the Yorkshire Country House Partnership to help me into the heritage field.  Plus I do already have one place I volunteer at so maybe I'm just being greedy.   :P

Is there someone else in the department who can help give you leads? Good luck with the PhD stuff! Wow, you're being very proactive about this. Good for you!  :)

I'm not sure, the other girl is in a different department so I'm guessing she got hers through the organisation associated with the University.  I don't know when I'll see her again to ask her about how she got it since we're only acquaintances.  I'll be talking to the administrator of the history grad students tomorrow since he's knows what/who the academics know.

IA: Man, that Cillit Bang stuff is no joke! I touched some by accident and I think it immediately started eating my flesh.  :P Plus I just about choked on the fumes! That sh*t is caustic, man!

UP: My bathroom has probably NEVER been cleaner.  :)

UP in general: nearly our whole house is, like, spanking clean. I think aliens invaded our bodies, as this never happens.  :P Plus I bought a new air freshener, some new tea towels, and a few other things which really improved the details. Our home is so fab today! And now we get the whole weekend to enjoy its sparkle.  ;D

UP: My passport finally came back from the DVLA !

IA: Still no provisional - it will be here at a later date. This is the second time due to the volcano I missed the deadline so it has become a big waiting game

UP: Flying back to Glasgow tonight!

IA:  Having to be on a plane.  I hate getting the standard sardine treatment, all I ask for is leg room!!!
