UP --> Put on a pair of pants this morning (and I mean pants as in PANTS, not pants as in panties - I think it's so idiotic* how the British use that word) and they were pretty loose!  So the diet is working!

IA -->  I just bought them two weeks ago (them and another pair the same size) so I feel I wasted money a little bit.

*Why do I think using the word pants to mean underwear instead of, well, PANTS is idiotic?  Because of the etymology of the word - it is a shortened version of the word pantaloon, which was first in use in the early 19th century in both the US and England, and it did, in fact mean trousers.  Somewhere between then and now, in this country, people got lazy and decided to drop the word "under" before the word "pants" and changed a perfectly good word.

Mod Hat on:  Stuff removed.  Please let's try to keep the tone of Chit Chat friendly, welcoming, and courteous.  The forum has many members of different nationalities, and with differing personal sensitivities.

Language evolves.  If you want to discuss how language has evolved, that's perfectly fine.  If you want to insult the British, then please take that elsewhere.  Thank you for your help with this!

IA: my cold has gotten way worse and I haven't slept in three night for the dry, tight, constant barking cough

UP: I went in to the haematology outpatients to get it checked to make sure it wasn't something worse (graft vs host, allergies, new asthma, etc) and they took blood, swabs, the lot and confirmed it's just a cold. So they gave me broad-spectrum antibiotics, an inhaler, and codeine cough syrup! These haem drs don't pussyfoot around!

SP, get better soon.

And yay JB about your DH!

My IA: Uni, you continue to suck so bad, so I am leaving you.

Relieved now. Just wait for my results and confirmation of my PGCert and I am off & free.

UP: 6 months off before next study, so time to convert cassette tapes to computer / CD.

That codeine cough syrup rocks - one teaspoon knocked me out all night so I actually had a decent night's sleep.

IA: The hospital rang in today to say my throat swab came back positive for adenovirus (which wikipedia says can cause a whole range of things from colds and coughs to pink eye to bladder infections to peneumonia) so they want me to come back in for more blood and urine samples to make sure it's only manifesting as a cold and not lurking anywhere else...

UP: I have to leave work early in order to get to the hospital outpatients before they close...

I had the adenovirus at boot camp and it was the sickest I have ever been.  But then being woken up at 5:30 to run probably didn't help.
 ;)
Feel better soon!

IA: Misread the schedule and showed up an hour early for work.

UP: The lurvely kitchen manager made me the most amazing turkey, avocado, blt ever.

IA: The front house manager made me pay for it because she doesn't like that all the kitchen guys love me and always do special things for me. We're allowed a meal on our shift, but only if you for sure work 4 hours. So, essentially she was just being a witch because I'm definitely going to work 4 hours.

UP- Our guitarist wrote a really gorgeous, fun piece of music for the band- and brought it out as surprise tonight-  our first original! It's not easy to write latin music!

IA- My trombone playing this evening was appallingly bad on so many levels - good thing it was only a practice and wasn't a gig

UP- Wow, this consultant had to have been the nicest doctor ever- was lovely and nice and explained things and did a work up and went through everything :)

IA- The results are looking quite scary - Not something I suspected. But more tests are being done to confirm.   :-\\\\

UP- Ok, so that this proves that I'm not crazy, its not all in my head, and its nothing to do with me "just being fat"

IA- I've got to wait a while until the results are back  :-\\\\
