IA: My first thought was that I look "very British". Eventually I tracked that thought down and realized that I look like Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles) from Torchwood. It's not even that I think she's unattractive (I don't!) it's just I wasn't expecting to have the same haircut.

I'd love to have that cut  :-\\\\, Sorry you don't like it.

Small rant- just so you know.

IA: Walked into work today (I picked up a serving shift because I'm trying to save money) and literally AS I AM PUNCHING MY TIMECARD the other bartender comes up to me and starts screaming at me, yelling the eff word, and telling me to get out of her private business.  Apparently, last week while I was eating at a fancy pants restaurant the waiter and I chatted about people we knew in common and I mentioned I heard she (bartender at my work) broke up with her boyfriend.  Totally random comment, no ill intent behind it. I was so angry and after she called me a b**ch and screamed the eff word at me- I was literally shaking.  I went to my two tables, took their orders, brought their drinks and then found the manager and told her what happened.  I think it's totally inappropriate to scream profanities on the floor of a restaurant and that is all I told my manager.  She talked to that crazy girl- and she told the manager to eff off and walked out.  So, I had to cover the bar, we were two servers short, and I don't get to go to Sacramento to see one of my closest friends for the last time before I leave because now I have to work six days a week until I leave.

UP: I'm going to totally rake in the money at the bar.  No more serving shifts, and my regulars that know I'm leaving keep leaving me 100% tips.  ;D

UP: Got a mug at work with my name on it (the permanent employees all have them, but as a contractor I didn't expect one)

IA: My name is, of course, misspelled. As always. ;)

I just dropped off a couple of VHS tapes to be converted to DVD at the Snappy Snap in town.

The IA part of it is that it's much more expensive to do than I expected--22 pounds for the first one and 10 pounds for the duplicate copy (guess I could have just burned my own duplicate off the first one--duh.   [smiley=doh.gif] ).

The UP part is that my best friend in the US will have an unexpected pleasure when she gets her copy of the DVD.  I'm going to surprise her.  The tape is of us playing harp together when we first started out, all dressed up in home-made medieval / renaissance clothes, and the second part is a year later when we played a big outdoor gig together.

Another IA about it is looking at myself from 13 years ago (!) and seeing my hair then compared to  how it is now.  It's definitely not nearly as thick as it once was.  (It was also long enough for me to sit on then.)  :\\\'(

That's fun Andee  :)

My IA: Ebay was being really stupid and causing errors (I'm looking for a trumpet, as J. wants to learn  ;D and I want to surprise him with one for our anniversary coming up )

My UP: Getting into ebay live chat with an advisor and he/she was completely able to fix it remotely and via text chat. Sometimes technology does wonders!
