UP: We're going to a pub tonight to help celebrate a friend's birthday

IA: the friend in question is really more of an acquaintance and I while I like the idea of going out and being social I expect my BF will spend the whole evening reading his RSS feeds on his phone and I'll be too shy to talk to anyone and we'll wish we'd stayed home and watched season 3 of The Big Bang Theory instead.

OMG my husband does this! It's usually his twitter feed though. it drives me nuts sometimes. good thing we don't go out much lol

...My BF and I met on twitter and the friend in question whose birthday it was is someone we met on Twitter as was one of the other two guys who showed up. The four of us spent the night reaching for our phones (while the other guy rolled his eyes) and a great time was had by all.

:D Gee, why bother going to the pub? Couldn't you all have a "virtual" drink together?  ;)

IA: Got another rejection for a job today.

UP: For one, they bothered to reject me at all rather than ignore me!  :)  For two, they put it on very nice stationery and posted it.  I'm tempted to frame it!  ;)

IA. We went to ASDA tonight to see if they have the Tickled Pink range is in yet they do but they aren't doing any tracky bottoms this time. I was really annoyed I was sooo looking forward to getting into a much smaller size than I was in last year at this time.  ::)  :P

UP. I did get a new T-shirt from the Tickled Pink range it's really cute it's black with Fozzie, Gonzo, & Kermit on it they all have the RUN DMC look from the late 80's. also on all there shoes they have a pink stripe on them, as well as there hats & there radio the dials are light shade of Pink as well.  ;)  :)

IA: Still feeling gross. :( 5 days is far too long for this stomach bug (or whatever) to stick around, and yet I also don't want to waste the GP's time since there isn't much you can do for mild pain/nausea.

UP: At least I get to work from home today, so I can skip the 3 hours of commute time.

I had this issue after returning from Iceland in March.  I figured it was either E. Coli or salmonella.  Both last about 7 days (as long as there aren't major complications which is unlikely in a normal adult) and have the same sort of symptoms.

For me it lasted exactly 7 days and was my first week at my new job.  Luckily I was close to the bathroom.

my ia: the tube strike messed up my plans to meet up with an old college friend since it took her 2 hours longer to get from one train station to another.

Up: got to meet up for breakfast this morning and she brought me a family sized box of graham crackers!

IA:  We ended up talking until past 2:00am and I had to be up at 6:20.

IA:  locking myself out of the house (I grabbed the back door keys and left by the front door, forgetting that the dead-bolt was on the back door).

UP:  walking to hubby's work (only 10 minutes away) hoping he'd be in the office so I could get his house keys.  He was thank goodness, and I got to see three of his work buddies I hadn't seen in a while, plus get some grapes and apples from the orchard and poly-tunnel.

IA: Well talk about being thrown into the fire - 4th day on the job, one of my suppliers is in today, and well I have to meet with them about things- but....... I actually have no idea what I'm supposed to talk to them about!!...because my boss is on hols and the two other engineers who would help me out and have done these things before are both out sick... and I have to support the factory as well with any issues because I'm the only one about to do this job- but its only day 4 and I don't really have a clue what I'm doing- Making it quite interesting. If I panic, who do I ask? Lol.

UP: I actually enjoy being thrown into the fire- its so much better that way, nothing like learning quickly- on the job training to the extreme!!  :)

UP: I get the chip for my iphone today. My son gave me the new phone as a gift.
UP #2. I'm home from the two day, 900 mile trip by car.

IA: I don't know how to use the iphone.

UP: I was able to have some bloodwork done today at my GP. This was my first visit there and I thought I'd have to wait days or weeks to have it done. It was a much more positive experience than when I when to my UK GP for the first time.

IA: My arm hurts from the vials and vials of blood that they took!

Haha, I got thrown into the fire today too.  I was pretty nervous at first but pretty chuffed by the end of the day when I was kicking a$$ and taking names!  8)  :D

My IA/UP:

UP: Had a great first shift through my temp agency.

IA: My legs and feet are screaming from being on them all day.
