Itunes
« on: July 29, 2009, 01:41:54 PM »
Hi there.  I'm in the UK until August 17 and my itunes keeps prompting me to upgrade.  If I upgrade, will it change my pricing from the dollar to the pound? TIA.

I've upgraded 4 times since moving to the UK and this has not happened.

You have the iTunes APPLICATION that is asking for an upgrade.  Then you have your iTunes ACCOUNT.  It is the account that determines whether it is a US account or UK account.  Upgrading the application doesn't do anything to the account. I have kept my US account active on my machine since moving here.  My husband has a UK iTunes account.  Some music can only be purchased in one country or the other so having both accounts is handy

There is an option on the bottom of the main storefront page that lets you switch from the US to UK store and vice versa. Like others have said, if you have a US account, you can only buy from the US store, but you can look around the UK store if you want.  You can buy music from the US store using a US account even if you're using a computer physically located in the UK.
