On this topic, when we first returned I was constantly amused by three things:

1. How wide the streets and parking spots are...
2. How enormous the cars are...
3. How incapable of parking their ginormous cars most Americans are...

Good ones!!  ;)

May I also add:

4. How LOUD Americans are
5. How inept Americans are at queueing (of course the Brits have elevated it to an art form) ;D

So true or just turning onto another street, can they possibly get around that corner without almost coming to a complete stop?  ::) I have a rule that while will I let cars out in front of me when in traffic, I refuse to ever let someone with an SUV get in front of me. They can sit there and wait until the cows come home. Can you tell that I really dislike those massive SUV's.  ;)

Um I knew 1 and 2 before I even went to the UK.  3 - Can YOU park a ginormous car properly?

Nope - I just don't have a ginormous car - and yes, i was oblivious to our road size.  LOL - when I first moved to the UK I seriously held up traffic driving something like 15 miles an hour down a two lane road iwth parked cars that meant that one side had to drive over the dividing line.  I was totally amazed that people drove on the street everyday that way - and even more amazed that people PARKED on it.  I bought a mini (original automatic) right away to ensure that I always had lots of space on both sides. ... :)

Wawa is the best! I am from West Chester, PA area and there are about 50 wawa's in Chester County! I miss Iced Tea. Turkey Hill ice tea was my favorite.

I agree.  Sweet tea is always gross.  Fresh-brewed unsweetened.  (Except for some Honest Teas and the blueberry oolong, which is really sweet).

Oh, you guys must not remember (or were not around) for the absolute sh!tstorm that was raised over a flash of Andy Sipowitz's (sp?) wrinkly butt on NYPD Blue. From the way some people were talking, you'd think think the civilization was collapsing around our ears.

I'll save you the suspense: the clip aired and the civilization survived. ;D

So, you can't look at a guy's bum, but you CAN watch people exterminate each other in shows like The Wire? Killing, good. Bottoms, bad.

I, personally, have no issue looking at guys' bottoms :D

I see what you're getting at (a wrinkly old man butt is just gross), but in fairness, The Wire was on HBO (paid cable) and NYPD Blue was on NBC.

Ah gotcha. Paid cable can be funnier than network telly here.

I notice when watching "two and a half men" that what I would consider quite mild swear words, which would be allowed on the BBC for example, are bleeped out. I've always wondered whether it's Paramount Comedy that bleeps them, or if that's how they arrived here.

My husband and I noticed that too. You'd think that all of the other stuff that makes it on telly here that 'Two and a Half Men' would be pretty tame!

We noticed it too, but it's not always consistent. Once in a while they'll bleep out something innocuous like 'ass,' but then something much worse will get through. My DH's head snaps around so fast when that happens! He's like a censor watchdog!
