Plane Tickets
« on: August 05, 2009, 04:22:04 AM »
Hi all,
I'm looking into booking my plane ticket to England soon. I was thinking of possibly buying a round trip ticket from Chicago to London instead of a one way ticket. One way's are almost as expensive as round trips and this way, I would have a trip home (though, this way, I know I'd have to have a one way from Chicago back to the UK whenever I go so may not be worth it). Anyways, does anyone have any advice or things I should take into consideration perhaps before I buy my plane ticket? I was wondering, if I do this round trip deal, if I pick a random date and end up needing to change it, do you know of specific airlines that allow this option without much of a fee? Is there usually a "grace period" in which a return ticket is allowed or does it vary from airline to airline?  Anyone who can shed any sort of light on this topic would be great!

It varies not just from airline to airline, but from ticket to ticket. Depending on what ticketing code you get, you can be allowed to make changes at any time, or never, or sometimes for a fee (different amounts.) When you're browsing for tickets, read the restrictions before purchasing.
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say
"Thank you for being a friend!"

Mort is right

The more expensive the ticket is...the less restriction is going to be on the class of service you have booked. You are paying for the privilage of being able to change things.....All ways read the conditions of the class you are booking... :)
