Birth dates don't match records

Grr.  So I'm sitting here looking at my FAVN Report Form from the Kansas State Lab. and my cats' birthdates don't match their vet records.  Their vet records aren't accurate either, but at least they are consistent.  Will this be problematic?  All of the microchip and serum date stuff is correct.

You can call DEFRA for a good answer, but on the paperwork I have (yours may be different though), the birthdate isnt listed anywhere other than the FAVN form, so I would just ask the vet to use the date on the FAVN form when he/she fills out the EC998 so they match.

This just happened to me too!  I picked up the original FAVN Report Form from my vet's office today and noticed that they put my cat's birthdate as May 2009 instead of 2007.  This, even though the dates of the blood draw and test were in February 2009, and last time I checked it's really tough to do a blood draw from a cat who won't be born for another three months.  Ugh.  I'm really really hoping that they can reprint this, even though it's written all over the form how they won't change any information once it's been printed.  The vet's office is calling them in the morning.  Fingers crossed...

You may not even need to know exactly what it is.  We've been trying to deal with this issue of the wrong birthdate on the Rabies form over the last few days, and what we were told is that the birthdate isn't actually a crucial bit of information.  It's the microchip that identifies the animal, not really the name/birthdate. So, what we are doing is getting a letter from our vet explaining the error, repeating the microchip number and actual birthdate.  I called DEFRA this morning and they said that that shouldn't be a problem.

Do your pets have a birthdate on their file at the vet (accurate or not)?  If so, I would just go with that one.

Me too.  The shelter thinks he was 8 weeks when I adopted him, but the vet placed him at a little younger based on his teeth still being soft, so I'll just have to guess!

i think we made up a date.......if not we will make up a date

mine are both rescues as well, i dont even know what year they were born let alone the month, the vet and i just made something up (i celebrate their actual birthday on april fools day since they are crazy, and its easy to remember!!)
