Etsy in the UK?
« on: August 07, 2009, 09:36:40 AM »
Hi, does anyone know if there's a UK-based website like etsy.com?

Many thanks
Lee

Hi Lee, I have not come across anything similar, but I use Etsy all the time.  Most people ship internationally, and anyone that does not have the option has been really accommodating when I convo'd them and sent my item.  Shipping prices are usually pretty reasonable  :D

If you search UK on the site, it picks up all the UK based sellers as well.

Try www.notonthehighstreet.com!  :)

Oh thank you!  I love that Spotty Cat bag!  ;D  And the Magpie bag, and...

Been wanting something like Etsy over here (looking for a bag) without having to faff about international shipping.

You're welcome! I don't think they're nearly as big as Etsy, but hopefully they'll keep expanding. There are some really lovely things to buy!

Yes, there is a UK site similar to Etsy. I posted about it last year. Many UK Etsy sellers are on here:

There are a couple of places that are more like Etsy than Not on the High Street (which I love):

Folksy (www.folksy.com) - the first UK based competitor; Misi (www.misi.co.uk); and Coriandr (www.coriandr.com). DaWanda (http://en.dawanda.com/) is German based but sellers are European but I don't like it that much due to the search. There are some other ones but don't have much stock so are pretty small at the moment.

I was trying to remember the name of that one to post it here, but couldn't think of it! Thanks!

OMG!!  Where have I been!?

I need to stay away from these sites, I already order to much! :-X

OK, I take back my first post, BUT I still LOVE Etsy and the prices are usually really good, and the people rock!!  Especially our very own Marlespo ;D

Thanks everyone! I didn't realise Etsy had UK sellers, off to do a search and have a look at the other sites too.
