Perfect Topic Title...
Wine or Beer and Music can be a lethal combination as it can/has turned me into that pathetic romantic mushy gushy mess....
We've already done the movie mushy gushy thing...

We have different taste in music but he loaded his entire mp3 player onto my computer for me...I have really started to dig a lot of the music.  The total geek song which I would not really admit many places but Halo by Beyonce makes me think of him.  All the crap in life and finally something fantastic.
Few Other Artists
Taylor Swift - Love Story
Dusty Springfield- All I See Is You
Joss Stone - so many of her songs!
Kings of Leon - I want you
Burden Brothers - Beautiful Night
I am such a huge country person but I know I can't nail specific songs since I am a person who reads into so many lyrics!

Great idea for a topic!

Rory and I are both music mad and have the same taste in bands so this is a subject we have spent a lot of time on :) Here are a few favourites. "Our" song has been mentioned already, Whole Wide World by Wreckless Eric, we have a running competition over who has the highest play count for the song.

Iris - Goo Goo Dolls
Lucky - Jason Mraz
You On My Mind In My Sleep - Richard Ashcroft
Maps - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
The Pageant of the Bizarre - Zero 7
Close To Me - The Cure
Mushaboom - Feist
I Know I Know I Know - Tegan and Sara
Here Comes Your Man - The Pixies
Starlight - Mumm-Ra
American Boy - Estelle/Kanye West ;)

If ayone wants to listen to any they don't know then Grooveshark is amazing and free, we use it all the time.

I'm so not soppy, and I was so busy having fun with my girls in NYC while I was doing my LDR that I didn't have time to miss him...but we totally fell in love to the album "If you're feeling sinister" by Belle & Sebastian and we went to see them in Glasgow during my first visit (when we met) in 1997...it was only their sixth or seventh gig and it all led to us meeting loads of new friends, and being quite good friends with the band, whom we still see on occasion. That album reminds me of days in a student flat in Manchester.

Our song is "Everything" by Lifehouse. This is because it was playing on his IPod the night we were together and he started softly singing it in my ear. *melts*
"Breathing" Lifehouse
"Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop" Landon Pigg
"Patience" Guns N Roses
"Daydreamer" Adele
"To make you feel my love" Adele
"Destiny" Zero 7
"Leather and Lace" Stevie Nicks & Don Henley
"Songbird" Fleetwood Mac
"Landslide" Fleetwood Mac

Just some of the few!!!  :)

I'm suprised that our song isnt on here yet! 3 Doors Down- Here Without You

We had that song play for our first dance at the wedding! I can never hear that song without thinking of my honey! Love it but at the same time when we were a part it mad me sad to hear. Now it just makes me smile!  :)

Athlete - In Between Two States, Flying Over Bus Stops, Half Light, Tourist, Yesterday Threw Everything At Me. (They seem to have a really good understanding of how it feels to be in a LDR...I'd also never heard of them until Andy introduced me...now I can't get enough!)
Anything by The Beat, or The English Beat. Either way. Our first concert together. :D
Bic Runga - When I See You Smile, Be All And End All
Fleet Foxes - In The Hot, Hot Rays
Jason Mraz and Colbie Calliat - Lucky
Moody Blues - Nights In White Satin
Liszt - Liebestraum #3
Bright Eyes - First Day Of My Life
Robin Thicke - Lost Without You
Joni Mitchell - A Case Of You
Sade - By Your Side
Floyd - Shine On, You Crazy Diamond
Michael Buble - Everything
XTC - Sargeant Rock, All You Pretty Girls
Olivia Newton-John - Suspended In Time (Xanadu Soundtrack)
Death Cab For Cutie - 1, 2, 3, 4; I Will Possess Your Heart

There are literally hundreds of songs between us....we're both ridiculously musical folk, everything from "She Moved Through The Fair" to "I Will Possess Your Heart"...music is the easiest way for us to connect when no other method is available.

Also: Transatlanticism is perfect for singing. LOUDLY. I can't find the original post....but I downloaded it based on the loads of positive comments...and I agree whole-heartedly!
