Rabies Jab & Titre?
« on: August 22, 2009, 03:35:15 PM »
Is it still the case that as long as you keep the rabies jabs up to date after the proper titre was performed, the test remains valid? We had the correct titre drawn for our cats in December, but our move has been pushed off until February. Do we need to re-do the titre, or will the rabies certificates for their jabs be sufficient (combined with the FAVN form which we already have)?

Help!

As long as all your paperwork for the titer is complete, and you have proof that there's been no lapse in vaccination for rabies, you're fine.

(I'm assuming the Dec rabies was 1yr, so if you get them re-done in Nov/Dec so there's no gap, DEFRA is satisfied. If your Dec one was 3yr you should be good for a long while.)

Oh, good! Thanks for that! We had their rabies booster given today, and I have certificates for their jabd that go back to 2005, so I think we're right where we should be.

Am definitely kicking myself for not getting the EU pet passport when we exported the fuzzies the first time.
