X-Factor 2009!!!
« on: August 22, 2009, 08:37:28 PM »
It's gonna be a good year! How great was that last guy Daniel??!!! His audition was amazing! Also, I smiled like a maniac when Cheryl said "Whey aye man!"  to that guy from South Shields.  :) What do you guys think?

I am not a fan of the huge live audience format for auditions this year and the use of backing tracks.  I think it shows much more talent if you can support the harmony without the help of the backing music.

Danyl was great.  And I think they said he was 27, so the over 25's have a good shot this year.  I liked the girl from Essex too.  I hope she makes it to the final 12.

I agree. It makes it more like a karaoke contest than ever.

Yes, it was a bit strange. A bit more like Britain's Got Talent, I guess.

I liked the girl from Essex, too.  :)

That's exactly what I was thinking. I don't really like it.

I liked the girl from Essex, too.  :)

I liked her too. :)

Yes the Essex girl was cool. I could not believe that girl from 2007 came back with her sister! Twice as bad as when it was only her!

What a disappointment it was, the live audience format imo doesn't work. Good talent or not, the new series was just disappointing.

I just saw it last night and I'm totally in agreement. The live audience idea was a BAD one.

She can keep the hair if I can have her salary. Talk about money for jam!

Thoughts on tonight's show?

Did you like the guy who sang the Kings of Leon song....Sex is on Fire?

What about the new Chico???  The Persian guy in the leather trousers.  He could have used a role of quarters if you know what I mean ;)

BWAHAHAHAAA!! I was thinking the same thing! Only in my mind it was socks.

I liked the Kings of Leon guy. He was good ... but maybe not as FANTASTIC as they all seem to think. We'll see. I like him quite a bit, but I'm not sure if that was just a fluke song for him.

The other two they loved - the girl from Trinidad and the guy with the dead brother - I actually thought were pretty bad. They both sounded as if they were really forcing their voices, especially the girl. Not a fan.

And I agreed with Simon about the others that Dannii, Cheryl and Louis all put through. They were awful.

There was a Persian guy? I missed that, did he get through?

I didn't really like the Kings of Leon guy, he couldn't sing and was over the top with his Jimi Hendrix impersonation. I didn't like the guy with the sob story either,  his voice was pretty weak.

Yup, he got through. But more because they thought he was "entertaining" (a la Chico) than talented.
