What did you guys think of the girl group, Misfits? I liked them, though I'm thinking they should change the name because it makes me think of Glen Danzig.  :)

It reminded me of Rudolph! But, yes, I thought they were pretty good.

Found it on youtube, hilarious!

I quite liked the Misfits but they sound just like the Puppini Sisters. No doubt Cowell & co found them highly original.

I was just thinking the same thing, lol!

Seeing him audition, I was wondering what the residency requirements were for the show (I know that when I was in the US on a student visa, I wasn't allowed to audition for shows like AI or So You Think You Can Dance because of the visa/residency requirements). I looked it up online and found an X Factor application form from 2007 that says you just have to be resident in the UK or ROI with a valid passport.

What do people think of the final 12?

I thought Cheryl put the wrong boys in her group. I would have chosen Hot American Guy over that Rikki person.

Dannii's girls are OK.

And I also thought that Louis should have taken those two boys (not the godawful twins) over either the strippers or the godawful twins. He has the very worst category, in my opinion, and I don't expect him to be long in the competition!

I think Simon has the strongest category by a mile. I would have been pleased with whoever he picked, but I probably would have chosen Daniel Pearce over Twitchy Danyl.

My faves to win: Jamie Afro or Lucie from Wales.

Girls: love Lucie and Stacey.  The other girl is good too and the best of the remaining 4.

Boys:  Rikki needs to fix that eyebrow.  It drives me nuts.  I don't think any of the boys are a  stand out to win.  They all seemed a bit mediocre.  Glad Cheryl didn't put through the opera guy.  I don't think I could have handled another Rhydian.

Groups:  I was surprised by the choice of the strippers.  I am not sure how much the public will back them.  But they have already had a lot of press, so that may help.  I still think that Miss Frank has a lot of work to do before the gel as a group.  But I LOVE that the girl rapped in Spanish at the audition. John and Edward need to find a steep cliff and proceed right over the top of it.  They drive me nuts.

Overs: No surprises.  I think Simon picked the 3 best/most commercially viable.  I personally like Olly the best, but just cause he reminds me of a friend!

I hope that Lucie wins.  She's my favorite at the moment.

Me too! She's fantastic! But I still don't know about them as a group. I think she would have been good as a solo ... but I think even back then they knew there were slim pickings in the group category, and they had to inject a bit of talent into it. Poor Louis.

Agree about the awful twins. Ugggghhhh. I actually think the stripper group was one of the better groups. Their harmonies are pretty good. They aren't great, though, by any means, but none of the groups really are. I think Miss Frank will be a pretty good group once they get some more practice in with each other.

I really like Stacey. I think she just has the cutest personality. Her voice is nice,  definitely not the best in the competition, but I root for her because she just seems so nice and genuine. DH really likes Lucie - I like her, too, but goofy Stacey just makes me smile.  :) The other girl has a great voice, though she sounds like she is 30. It's hard to believe she is only 17.

I was a bit disappointed by the boys Cheryl chose. To be honest, of course I wanted hot American guy in her picks, but I thought Dwayne (or Duane?) was really the best singer of all of them and should've been in her 3. I love Joe, super cute little Geordie boy. He actually looks like the long lost triplet of some lesbian twins I know. :P I will be rooting for him most in the group (mostly 'cause he's from South Shields). Rikki seems like a nice guy, but his voice isn't that great. Lloyd completely baffles me. I have no idea why she chose him over any of the others. Definitely glad she didn't pick opera guy. Nice guy, but that style of singing just doesn't make sense to me in a competition like this.

The over 25's were all really good. I loved all of them. By far the strongest category this year. I was surprised Simon picked Olly over mohawk guy. (Not that I don't like Olly) But I get what Simon said about giving someone a first chance. I was sad to see any of them go, the 3 that got sent home were still far better singers than the people in the other categories. The competition in that category was really tough.

Will be interested to see the live performances next week. I wonder if those twins will get voted off on the first show. I certainly hope so!!! I wish people could vote for who to eject rather than who to keep in.

I feel the same way about Stacey, she's so gorgeous but not an ice maiden about it at all.
I also thought she was dressed appropriately, in jeans and a polo shirt and didn't look overly made up or WAY too tan like that S Club juniors girl (ick!) and she just makes me smile every time she talks! Everything she had to say was totally genuine and I thought she was incredibly loveable and likeable.
I hope she does well!

She has real crossover appeal for men and women.

I like her singing voice OK, but when I hear her speak I have to press the Mute button. Wow, that's awful.

I can't tell the difference between most of the contestants actually, they all look and sound so alike! Stacey is probably my favourite but  does eveyronne on X Factor have to do that trembly vocal thing, it gets on my wick really.  That guy who thinks he is Jimi Hendrix (sans guitar) is irritating as all hell. Maybe I'm getting past my sell by date cause I'm just not enjoying X factor this year and really wish there could be a real talent show for people who really have talent and can actually play musical instruments and write their own songs.

Yes, I agree. It does mean a lot more when a person can play a musical instrument and write their own songs, as well as being a good singer. There's a huge difference between someone like Alicia Keys and someone like Britney Spears. I like Jamie, but I do think he needs a band to back him up. I'm not sure about him as a stand-alone performer. Being a rock and roll sort of guy, it's hard to see him performing on his own, when you know he would be so much better as part of a rock band. Then again, last year, when Laura played the piano during her performance, she ended up going home, so I guess not everyone agrees with us.  :-\\\\

I agree with most of what everyone's said.  Hate the twins, love Jamie and Lucie as performers and Stacey's personality.  Think the over-25's are strongest and the groups are rubbish.  However, I really, really liked the over-25 woman (I've forgotten her name already, stupid me) whose dad had died.  I liked her voice and loved how she looked.  My guess is that Simon didn't pick her because he thought she wasn't sexy enough, but I would have voted for her.

IMO that is why Britain's Got Talent is a better show than the X-Factor.
