Hmmm.. thoughts about the show?

I did think Cheryl did a pretty bad job choosing songs, but then, Diva week is such a b*tch. (Irony?) Rikki was terrible, but that was just such a bad song for him. Lloyd was ok, but not great. Joe was terrific. I love him.

Loved all the Over 25s, especially Jamie. Olly was fun.

I was disappointed in the girls, too. I thought Lucie was really bad tonight!  :( Rachel was meh. Stacey was ok, but I love that song, and I've heard it sung so much better than that by so many other people.

Miss Frank was ok, but the beginning of the song where they all sang seperately wasn't that great. The end when they came together saved the performance.

John and Edward... hmmm... well, they ARE terrible, but I would lying if I said they didn't make me laugh. All their high-fiving and silliness does crack me up a little. At least they are having fun. But seeing as how it's a singing competition, and they truly can't sing, I think they need to go.

And yet Simon made it work for his boys! I think Cheryl didn't put any thought into it....

I just can't get into this series. They all bore me to tears and last night was compounded by the music (SO not my thing). I don't mind Jamie but even he doesn't really excite me that much....

My favourite moment was Dani telling everyone that we were not only going to hear Lucie sing, but also see her "dance". I assume she mixed up her words and meant "skip".  ::)

Always!!  ;D

Let me preface this by saying that, like Anne, I find Diva Week pretty excruciating. It is soooo not my kind of music.

Lucie - Crap song and no, she didn't dance, but compared with what came later she was pretty damned good.

Olly - Actually quite good, but probably because it wasn't a big diva-esque ballad.

Miss Frank - Meh

Rachel - That was awful. Did they not hear how off-key she was??

Joe - I hate him so much. Honestly. The boy puts me in a coma.

Danyl - Meh

Lloyd - I liked it better than Leona Lewis's version. But, come to think of it, that's not saying much.

The Twins - WTF?!?

Rikki - The only good thing I have to say about his performance is that at least he wasn't wearing that godawful hat.

Jamie - I liked him, but probably mostly because I'd never heard that song before. Good performance.

Stacey - Ouch.

*******

I also must just add that I'm starting to really dislike Cheryl. The fake crying? The ... I don't know ... the everything! I'm so over her.

I sort of expect Rikki to be in the bottom two tonight. I wonder who else? Hopefully the twins, but they do seem to be gathering some sort of following, so I wouldn't be surprised if they make it through another week.

I still like Cheryl - I think she's cute and I like her personality, but she really can't sing, and I sooooo dread hearing her perform that naff new single of her's tonight.  :-X

I love Joe! I think he's great! Definitely one of the best singers in the competition, in my opinion. I still think one of the Over 25's is going to win.

Chary, I agree that I kind of liked that song for Lloyd, though I haven't heard the original. I thought it was a good choice for him, being a teenage heartthrob and all that.

I wouldn't be surprised either, but I'd looooove to see them knocked out tonight. I agree it'll be Rikki. And, if not the twins, then maybe Rachel or even Miss Frank.

I think he has a good voice, technically speaking. But there's nothing different about it or about him. I need a spark or SOMETHING. He doesn't have ... what is it? ... I don't know what to call it ... oh yeah! The x-factor!  :P

LOL, Chary. I think Joe has a spark! He has great eyes and connects well with the camera and puts on good performances. Hopefully they will give him a more upbeat song next week and he can perform a bit more for you. Maybe show some leg or something. Like Cheryl.  :P

Speaking of Cheryl, I wasn't looking forward to seeing her perform, but good God, she was probably 10 times better than Whitney Houston. What sort of train wreck was that? It was awful and I couldn't wait for it to end.  :-X I can see why she hasn't performed in 10 years, and she certainly looked and sounded like she had been hiding in a drug den for a decade.  :o

I guess we were right about Rikki. Honestly, I think they should've sent Rachel home. I mean, obviously the public doesn't support her as much as the others if she was on the bottom 2 weeks running. But that happened with Ruth last year. They kept her in, even though she was on the bottom a lot. Rikki probably would've improved on big band week, I think that's his style of music. He got a bad song last night, unfortunately.

How'd you like Cheryl's comment about the twins? Ouch! She was certainly telling it like it is, though.

Absolutely! I really didn't like Cheryl and thought the song was absolute pants, but in comparison to what came next, she was alright! Whitney looked completely loaded.

I don't like the song, but I did think her voice sounded good. Certainly better than Whitney Houston, which is very shocking. I never thought I would say that. She did look totally stoned. Even worse than Mariah Carey last year.

Whew! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought so! That was a train wreck of drug-fuelled ululating!

ETA: We're not alone.

I guess that is good news for Cheryl, though, since it made her look that much better. Honestly, I would've rather sat through her performance ten times in a row than to see Whithey Houston perform that routine once. Shameful. *shudders*

I don't know. I kind of want to see Whitney's performance again. You know - like the twins or The Exorcist;)

LOL...  ;D. I was hoping her dress was just going to unravel itself to make the whole spectacle that much more entertaining.  :P

I've noticed this year both X Factor & Strictly have had terrible guests, really trashed out has beens. Robbie Williams was atrocious last week I thought, and on Strictly a couple of weeks ago they had poor old Andy Williams who must be about 100, he could barely croak out Moon River.  Why can't they get some people who are more, I dunno .. healthy?!
