They should call it "the week we try and get older people to watch the show"  ;D

LOL! I never thought about that as a motivating factor, actually. You have a point!  ;D

Oh God. Shock and awe at the bottom 2. Glad Danyl is still in. Miss Frank wasn't my fave, but they were so much better than John & Edward and Lloyd.  :-X

I'm enjoying how much John & Edward are getting up Simon's nose. It's hilarious. It's like Frankenstein's monster.

I just laughed and laughed the entire time that they were on.  I wasn't happy that Danyl almost went but I did find them amusing at the time.

I didn't like Miss Frank.  I thought the song they sang last night was absolutely horrible...at least one (and all of them) at some points in time were very off-key and I don't think rapping is the best way to showcase your vocal talent.  (Sorry to be overly critical but as someone with 20+ years of vocal training, I tend to analyze technicalities more than some would.)  They did seem like nice ladies though.  I love the Twins entertainment factor but obviously the vocal aspect is lacking.  I guess that's what happens when you put the voting in the hands of the public...it's not necessarily a "singing contest" at this point...it's an "entertainment contest"...I don't think that was the original intent but it's where we are.  You have to admit the Twins are entertaining...for a laugh if nothing else.

I do think they are entertaining, really. They are a bit annoying, but it's part of their charm. I feel sort of sorry for them, actually. Not only because of all the bad press and people booing them on stage, but I think now they will feel a bit more pressure because they are the last of Louis' acts. I certainly hope they don't win, though, that would be such a waste. I was telling my DH that maybe they should have their own Hannah Montana kind of show over here, they are so over the top and would probably have real appeal for kids.

I thought Rachel was great last night... but the hysteria she gave off after her performance was seriously OTT, and will really hurt her this week, I think. It was very fake. I know she is just trying hard to have more personality like Stacey so people would vote for her, and I feel kind of sorry for her for trying so hard because I think it will hurt her in the end after what was a good performance.

I so agree with this!! I thought she was ridiculous!! It was exactly like an impersonation of Stacey. I mean, it's annoying enough when Stacey acts like that, but at least with her it's genuine. Genuinely annoying, but genuine all the same. But with Rachel, it was beyond phony. It competely overshadowed her performance, which was actually OK. And then she did it all over again when she was put through to next week. Bring back the old boring Rachel!

I liked Lucie. But the others weren't great, in my opinion. The bottom two definitely shouldn't have been in the bottom two. Obviously, the twins were the worst. But I thought Stacey was pretty bad this time around. Those would have been my bottom two.

;D I thought this as well!

I think Lloyd was really crap last week. He's not that great anyway, IMO.

Eh?  ;)

Lloyd is really cute and I think Cheryl chose him for the potential heartthrob factor, but I'm unenthusiastic about his performances.

Speaking as one who doesn't like Danyl, I think there are just people who don't like him, regardless of his singing ability.  He has a good voice, but I really don't care for the way he performs, and his interpretation of his songs.  He's talented, but I doubt he'll win.

I'm cooling on Stacey, I don't think she's a performer either, despite her gorgeous voice.

Personally, I loved Joe's performance this week, cheesy dancing and everything.  He's adorable and I like him.

Lucie was good, much much better than in the last two weeks.  Warming to her again.

Love Jamie, but wasn't keen on his performance this week.

Still hate the twins, don't care if they're nice boys, they can't sing and their "entertaining" is totally one-dimensional.  Do you really want to hear them on the radio?  Singing a ballad?  Ugh, I shudder to think.
On s'envolera du même quai
Les yeux dans les mêmes reflets,
Pour cette vie et celle d'après
Tu seras mon unique projet.

Je t'aimais, je t'aime, et je t'aimerai.

I think it's hilarious that they choose to sing that particular song!  The entire performance I just kept thinking of the guy from American Idol (She Bang!  She Bang!) who is now famous for his horrible rendition of the same tune.

Eh?  ;)

I'm far too old to even contemplate whether or not he's cute ... but I do see why Cheryl might have chosen him for that reason. I honestly think he has a very good voice. He's way too shy, but if he gains a bit of confidence I think he could be great.

Hehe! He is ok, I guess. He is cute. I think Ethan, the American guy, had a nicer voice and was much nicer to look at (hehe!), but I can see why Cheryl would choose a Welsh boy over an American one. Ultimately, it's a British competition, and although the public may vote for an outsider at first (like Ruth last year) eventually they will want someone British to win, I think. Some people would think "Why doesn't that guy just go on American Idol or something?"
I think Lloyd was pretty bad last week, though. I hope he pulls it around this week. I didn't think he was that bad the first two weeks, so maybe it was just an off week for him.
