It won't let me put a semicolon...guess it will have to be commas and periods.

Now on to different UK visas:

Where is the reference number to a visa? Is it in the top right hand corner or is it the VAF number? So 9 digit number or 6?

Also, I came to the UK in March on a visitors visa and I can't read the reference number on it. Should I just put unreadable?

So I noticed a strange thing on the application form that it didn't have a question asking when you are travelling back to the UK. So, I was just wondering how they determined the start date on the visa?

They'll post-date it for up to 3 months as long as you attach a note or make it clear somewhere of a specific date that you want to travel. Otherwise, the validity date is usually the date they approve the visa if you don't tell them to put down any other date.

I haven't included any of my finances - is that okay? I haven't used either of my accounts in the past 5-6 months, and they are both practically at 0. So there would be no real reason to include it.

I have listed in the application that I intend to work at an administrative role, which I have experience for. The normal annual pay for this is around 13-14k. Which means I would be bringing in an extra 1000 GBP a month. Should I include this information? My CV isn't up to date - do they check dates of when you left places? I shouldn't think they have enough time to do that.

My fiance thinks that we shouldn't include a budget because they don't ask for it. And he things if we send lots of stuff they don't ask for they will start to get annoyed? I was just wondering if I should draw one up and submit one without him knowing?

Our finances don't look great, but we do have 120 pounds left over each week. I guess that's all we need to prove.

I don't believe they check anything on the CV--it's mainly for them to just see what kind of work experience you have and what work you'd be eligible/looking for in the UK. You can show them job adverts looking for administrative roles or whatever to show the ECO that there's work out there you'd be eligible for, and that you're intending to work, but you can't count any sort of salary towards your budget unless you have a solid job offer in hand.

Honestly, I don't think a budget is a huge hassle, and I don't think it will annoy the ECO. Things the ECO could possibly get annoyed with is tons of online chat logs, tons of emails, things like that. The budget is a good way to show the ECO exactly what you're paying out, and helps highlight that 120 pounds a week left over you guys got--again, it's not *required*, but I don't think it'll send the ECO into a blind rage to have it included. If you feel comfortable including one, include one--it's your application, you shouldn't have to *hide* things from your fiance concerning it.

As for your bank statements, I don't *think* you have to include yours if you're not using them to meet maintenance requirements, or to bolster your finances any.

Excellent, I'll just update my CV to the best of my knowledge and print some job adverts out.

I think my fiance was just thinking that the ECO can just look at his accounts and see what he has left over each month. I didn't mean exactly 'hide', but he is worried about it being too much information, when the ECO can just look for themselves. So I was thinking I should add a budget, even though my fiance doesn't think we should.

It's completely up to you what you're comfortable with including--again, it isn't a requirement. For a lot of people it's just a way to clarify finances and to better show the ECO what's going out and what's going into the household. For me it was just a clear, concise outline of what bills we're paying, and I was able to show how much we had left over per week which the bank statements couldn't clearly show.

But, again it's not a requirement, so you can go either way on it I suppose :)

Again, too much information would be things like including tons of emails and online chat logs and such--those things can be a little annoying and extraneous when done in excess, but a budget IMHO wouldn't be considered 'too much' information.

We do have quite a but of email exchanges - but they are only screen shots...not actual emails. We have them bundled together, so they can just look at the front and back sheet if they wanted to check when we started talking.

I'm cutting back a letter and a card too. Do you have to photocopy everything? Because I was thinking about sending the original cards without photocopying. Would I get these back?

Oh and I FINALLY applied. YAY.

Get my biometrics on Friday and will send my package off that day.

Phew - a big weight has been lifted. Only for a little bit though - until I send my package off.

The guidance does not specify what color...I think I signed mine in red or purple...Pretty sure it was Purple since I was in a purple phase at that time.
