In honor of Fall like weather and because I feel like it... I present you with the official Fall food thread... so have at it!  :-*

I love a nice cream of potato soup on a chilly day (with some corn muffins, ideally.)  :) I won't put up a recipe as I am sure most everyone has an idea of how to make that.

My husband made an amazing chunky ham and leek soup last week. Unsmoked gammon, leeks, onions, swede, and potato. He just boiled the gammon for a bit, then took it out and chopped it into chunks, added the veg and a few Knorr ham cubes, and let it simmer for a few hours. Easy to make, and soooo tasty.  :)

I also like braised red cabbage to serve with pork chops. Just shred the cabbage, toss in red wine vinegar, brown sugar, and any warm seasonings you like, cover and roast in the oven for 2 hours.

Curious to see some recipes with acorn or butternut squash or sweet potatoes - myfave veggies!  :)

This here: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2089/spiced-carrot-and-lentil-soup.  To me, that's autumn in a bowl.  I love blended soups so much and even though this one can really be made at any time of year, its color and mix of spices are undeniably autumnal.  I often make double batches of this soup just to make it last longer.  Highly recommended!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

New England Clam Chowder and turkey pumpkin chilli.  I like soups a lot and am too lazy to make them in the summer.

I love cranberry orange bread. I think I might try to make some this weekend if I can find some cranberries anywhere.  :)

It's actually a tad on the cool side here today so we are making a bean soup with ham (just throwing random cans of bean in the crockpot with chunks of ham, and lots of herbs and spices - oh, and onion and garlic and carrot). We'll have them with these:

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Pumpkin blackbean chili

Roasted acorn squash filled with maple syrup and butter

Apple pie, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, pie in general is good!

Pot roast, stew

Beef roast/pork roast/chicken roast, with roasted veg

Pea soup

Campfire stew (which really for me is just a clean out of the fridge and cupboards and dump it all together until it tastes good)

I will get recipes for some of these later  ;)

This recipe for Cottage Pie...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/comfortingcottagepie_14505.shtml

Sounds good. Why couldn't they put on a photo of the pie instead of a pic of raw mince, though?! Weird...
