StephanieLea, I won't even repeat his reply when I gave him your suggestion, other than this, "I only purchase coffee from Harrods and at £200 per kg, I don't get it very often." The rest isn't fit to repeat. LOL Bless him!

Aaaah bless him. Well, if he's happy at Tescos, let him crack on. It is the best place in my area for international ingredients. I wouldn't buy my fresh produce there though if my life depended on it! ;D

I love going to Harrod's food halls to peruse. It's my kinda porn :D

When I was making coffee at Tim's in the cafetiere, I was adding a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg to the coffee to give it a little flavour, then added regular milk.  Tasted great!

I know, SERIOUSLY!!!  I had forgotten all about flavored creamer until I read this thread!  That's what made 7-11 coffee bearable: those little hazelnut, chocolate, Irish Cream and dulce de leche creamers they had.  Ugh, the longing!!

Throwing in my own woeful commiseration on this as well. I'm also blissfully addicted to not only foo-foo creamers (my favorite being Creme Brulee), but also heavenly flavored ground coffee beans like "toasted coconut" and "chocolate macadamian nut"..... SOOOO divine!

But of course I was denied any such delights during my last visit. Poor Fiancee had to be dragged to MANY different shops as I wept in withdrawal.

However....I do believe I will be trying this when I get there permenantly:

Anyone tried something like that yet?

I know someone's already mentioned Whittard's do flavoured instant and whole bean coffees as do Boaters.  I don't know if Boaters have any shops in Nottingham, but they do have one in Meadowhall.

The only coffee creamers I've seen are Coffee Mate powdered in either original or light.  Occasionally I see Mocha, but that's few and far between, but they're usually at Sainsbury's or Morrisons.   :-\\\\  I'd recommend either whipping cream or whole milk if you're looking for something dairy.  If you look online you might be able to buy flavoured coffee syrups or ask a Starbucks or Costa Coffee, they'll possibly sell you a bottle (probably at a mint, but hey).   ;)

I have had good flavoured coffee from Jacc's.  I really liked the Bounty.  http://www.jaccscoffee.co.uk/

They have lots of flavoured decaf as well, which my dh really likes.

Since I AM moving there coffee creamer became an important topic to me <giggle>
So I started looking up recipes to MAKE some BUT need one of you to test - I know you want creamer as much as me so try it with the ingredients over there and let me know what you thought?

First one seems like more work BUT may be worth it
Pumpkin Spice Latee
Ingredients: Makes 2 servings

1 level tablespoon pumpkin puree
1 cup milk (whole if you dare!)
1/2 tablespoon light brown sugar (packed and leveled)
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg (+ a pinch for dusting later)
1/8 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 cups strong coffee (brewed using 2 tbs per 1 cup of water)
You can also use a shot or two of espresso instead of coffee.
4 tablespoons Coffeemate creamer
4 to 8 teaspoons of granulated sugar
Whipped cream
Begin brewing coffee.

In a blender puree the milk, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, brown sugar and vanilla. Pour into a small saucepan and cook over low heat until the milk is warm and begins to froth slightly. (About 4-5 minutes.) Remove from heat.

For each serving: Pour 1/2 cup of the pumpkin mixture into your coffee mug. Add 2 generous tablespoons of Coffeemate creamer. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds, then add 1 cup of brewed coffee. Add 2 to 4 teaspoons of sugar (depending on how sweet you like your drink, I added 3 tsps.) Top off with a touch more ‘pumpkin milk’ then cover with whipped cream and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve immediately

Vanilla Coffee Creamer Substitute
Ingredients:
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Amaretto Coffee Creamer Substitute
Ingredients:
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup milk
1 ounce almond
Directions:
Combine all ingredients thoroughly and store in a jar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Since we recycle we have the creamer bottles on hand even when we don't have the creamer. I like to reuse these bottles for my homemade creamer since they have the convenient caps on them that make the creamer easy to pour. Be sure to shake the creamer well before each use.

To change flavors of your homemade creamer you can substitute the vanilla extract with any other that you like. I like using hazelnut, almond, peppermint, and coconut extracts. These are extracts I typically have on hand so when we run out of creamer I am not stuck with only making vanilla as a backup.

Ooooh, those sound good, ZB!!!  ;D Those are all ingredients available here, though canned pumpkin seems to be hit and miss. I may have to try that pumpkin latte over the holidays as I have some fresh pumpkin puree in the freezer that I should use. I don't know what I would store the rest in, though. Maybe just an old milk container that's been washed out? I guess it would be good for a few days up to a week, don't you think?
