I've been doing some nice walks lately but am hoping to improve from my decidedly amateur status.  I've signed up for a few longer rambles as part of a local walking festival and am considering joining our local rambling group.

Yay!  I think you'll be taking to the long distance trails with us soon, Tin!

Don't beat yourself up.  I didn't go for ages either - just getting back into it now!

Us too!  Except for the camping bit.  You still need to let me know where you're gonna be?  Maybe we can meet up for a meal or a pint or something?

We went out and did a lovely walk tonight, which had these natural hills that are surrounding a lake and flat land.  And the sky was a nice colour tonight.  Not a particularly difficult walk and only about a mile and a half for the loop we did, but it was beautiful.

My husband and I did a 5.5 mile walk yesterday with the ramblers as part of the walking festival.  Lovely weather and views.  Lots of "slopes".  My knees and ankles were a little sore today but otherwise I'm ready to go again!

This is funny, considering we live less than 1/2 mile apart - lol!  And we didn't consult with each other in advance, honest!

J and I did a few walks today- in the pissing rain - yay for waterproofs!-

Easy rambles but very beautiful- one of them has all kinds of glacial features- esker ridges and kettle holes- and the other one has two gorgeous waterfalls

Also the leaves are starting to change- so some lovely yellows and reds- so between that and the rain and mist, it was actually quite pretty out

Sounds very pretty!

We did a walk from Keld to Muker and it was beautiful!  As always I am the slowest and always lagging behind.  Our friends didn't mind, but it does make me self-conscious, and if it was just me and hubby I'd have like to take it a bit slower.  Muker is a totally picturesque tiny village and I wanted to stay a bit and explore, but nobody else seemed to want to do that.  :(

There was a house in the village called "Lamb Farm", but it should have been called "Kitty Farm" because I counted 5 cats sitting on walls, in doorways, etc.  It was the highlight of my walk!  Honestly, I do like walking, but I'd have been just as happy to stay in Muker all day taking photos of cats and old buildings or sketching, and drinking tea.  I'm just not really all that rugged to be honest.

The second day we packed up a bit earlier than planned because the weather turned rainy.  A shame, really because Mrs. and Mr. R. came to our campground--we saw them on the way out, they were going to do the walk we did the day before, I think.
