Corner should have lemons, really!  If not, the yoghurt would definitely help for the 'sourness' you need.

They are hit and miss, truly. I've looked for lemons there many times and I find them about 40% of the time, the other 60% of the time it's a no-go. And they don't even have the lemon juice in a bottle stuff, either. I'll just use the yoghurt if I can't find the lemons or some sort of white vinegar or anything like that. Thanks, guys!

Not from the south but this is a great site.  Thanks for the link.  I am a good cook and I knew I could make my own sausages and cheese but I just need a bit of confidence that this site seems to be offering.  I will be trying it out soon.  I miss good Mexican food.

Had chicken fried steak tonight thanks to this thread. :D  Bought ground pork and buttermilk for sausage and biscuits this weekend, too.

Can I come over?  ;D I keep wanting to do sausage and biscuits, but I'm not sure my biscuit skills would be up to par.  :-\\\\ I guess practice wouldn't hurt, though!

No, but anything with bacon (especially if it goes into a biscuit) gets my vote.  :)

Haven't tried it but would imagine it would be really nice. Jam and bacon on a biscuit is fantastic as is hog jowls and maple syrup (think full pancake breakfast on the same plate).
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

Let me do a trial run this weekend and then we'll see if we can't arrange something. ;D

I got so hungry looking at that blog I had to run out and pick us up breakfast.  Amazing stuff on there and hubby says I must make the bacon jam.

Okay, I made the biscuits, cream gravy, and breakfast 'sausage' last night for a rather unhealthy dinner.  It went down a TREAT.  I used fresh thyme because I honestly wasn't sure if she was calling for fresh or dried herbs in the sausage recipe.  It was a bit overpowering so if you're using fresh, definitely decrease the quantity a shade.  Also, our chili flakes are from the Indian section of the supermarket so they're MEGA-spicy and therefore could've used with a pinch less ;).  However, they were FAB and ten million times better than my other attempts at doing 'flavored' sausages here in the UK.

Biscuits were also fantastic - so much better than my Joy of Cooking recipe, surprisingly!!  I don't know how she gets 10-12 outta that recipe; I got 7 big 'uns! :-p
