Why, thank you! Yep, from scratch - using the HomesickTexan's recipe,
here, which calls for beating the dough. Not something I've tried before, but it works! Folding the dough in half before cutting out results in biscuits which split perfectly in half for buttering purposes, too.
I subbed in a tablespoon of sugar, instead of the teaspoon called for - I like my biscuits a bit sweeter, to balance the buttermilk - and mine were done in 13 minutes, rather than 15, so I'd keep an eye on them.
