recipe to calorie converter?
« on: October 04, 2009, 01:43:31 PM »
Does anyone have one they really like? We are having to watch every calorie my son takes in to make sure he is hitting 1200 or more a day. Because we are having to make almost everything from scratch, we need a reliable, easy to use recipe converter. I've found a couple but I'm not loving any of them yet.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I like Spark People. It is a bit confusing at first, but once you log in all your information and open your account, to log recipes you go to Healthy LIfestyle - Spark Recipes - Recipe Calculator. You can enter in all the info for your recipe (some you will have to manually enter, though there are lots of standard things in the database) and then you just go from there. Once you have entered the recipe, you can add it on to any day you want by clicking the calendar and selecting which meal you want to add it to.
On Spark People, you can open an account and track everyone in the family, I believe, but I'm not sure how you do that, since I just do it for myself. Just PM me if you have any questions about it.  :)
