Can anyone recommend...
« on: October 11, 2009, 11:17:27 PM »
Right, we're venturing back to the states for a visit soon and I'm trying to find some good child friendly (preferably, but not essentially organic) yogurts / fromage frais for DD.  By child friendly I mean not sugar or sweetener laden and possibly with added calcium.  Can anyone recommend a particular brand (besides Danone)?

The grocery stores I have available to me within a reasonable distance are: Giant Eagle, Heinens, Trader Joe's and Aldi if this helps give more accurate suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Feel free to move this thread to parenting if necessary, but I figured general foodies might be able to answer this - not just parents.

When I was in the US, I used to eat lots of Stonyfield Farm. I know my brother used to give my nephew their yo baby range when he was little.

Thanks for the quick responses Lilybelle & Kate!   :)  Giant Eagle stock a selection nearby, so that will be great that I don't have to treck all over town to get 'em!

I'm sure Trader Joe's will have something that fits your criteria, if the ones mentioned above don't work out.

Stonyfield is a good option. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are the only places I can find full fat yogurt with no sugar added.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Yobaby is your best bet imo. Most of the yogurts have artificial sweetners in them. Also FAGE with some fresh fruit is a good thing also.
