Pretty sure I didn't say all churches.
My church teaches that humans are a creation of God in his image and are a part of creation
That is creationism. Doesn't mean it's young-earth creationism, but it's still creationism. Some churches go with the 'evolution is true for all but humans, who were created', some go with '"microevolution" is true, but god created the major groups of animals and there is no common ancestor', some go with 'evolution is true, but humans were its purpose and god inserted the soul at some mysterious point', and some go with 'evolution is true, but god started it off and maybe helped it along at times with perhaps the ultimate goal of humans'. These are all varying degrees of creationism, with the latter two generally called 'theistic evolution' to be more polite.
I'll concede that astronomically speaking, very few people still teach/believe that the earth is at the centre of the universe, but metaphorically (or should that be metaphysically?) speaking it's still widely taught/believed that the earth is the centre of 'creation'.
