A lot of waitrose stores stock American canned Libbys pureed pumpkin, so I find it really easy to get!

Snap!

But don't leave it too late, 'cause they do sell out.... I ended up getting it at Whole Foods last year 'cause I left it a bit too long....

Oh, and fresh cranberries aren't really available until a few weeks before Christmas, so if you make homemade sauce, you will have to buy a jar.

Again, not entirely the case. We tend to go to the US for Thanksgiving, but the couple of years that I've cooked Thanksgiving dinner here I've not had any trouble finding fresh cranberries. Waitrose or Sainsburys in my experience carry them right through the late autumn/early winter.

Thank you all, I really appreciate it :) I think I will end up posting and swapping recipies here once I am there for my visit/ trial living together. I couldn't sleep and got sidetracked looking up dinning sets there, as we don't have one yet and have been having fun shopping online - now just got to convince my gf to like one I do and get it haha, then we can actually have holidays meals... and hope to have some dinner parties once I get to make friends and meet some people, as I love doing that here for my friends.

A lot of waitrose stores stock American canned Libbys pureed pumpkin, so I find it really easy to get! I used to make my pumpkin pie with fresh butternut squash before I lived near a waitrose and it was always delicious. Pumpkin pie spice premixed is hard to find, but you can mix your own pretty easily. Oh, and most stores stock ocean spray cranberry sauce in jars around this time of year- it tastes exactly like the stuff in cans back in the states, if you're into that rather than the fresh stuff ( I totally agree on fresh cranberries being really hard to find pre-thanksgiving here, but if you plan ahead and have the room, they freeze brilliantly!).

Thanks for this SP. I'm going to go to the waitrose nearby to see if they have Libby's! I brought over pumpkin puree last year, but this year that ended up being impossible... I'd really like some kind of pumpkin treat for Halloween. Wish me luck!

They have it at Whole Foods all year round.  Harrods carry it in the festive season.
