Hi all!
I know there has been much heated debate on the suitability of digestive biscuits as a substitute for graham crackers in baking.

I (or, rather, bf) may have an alternative that's closer to the mark...
Simmers Abernethy Biscuits. (They should be widely available in Scotland. Not sure about England or Wales.)
I sent bf a box of graham crackers as part of his birthday box last month, and he and his mum have been wracking their brains, trying to figure out what they're like. Finally, his mum hit upon Abernethy biscuits. So, he bought a packet for comparison's sake. He reckons they're much closer to graham crackers in texture than digestives are.
We make no guarantees as to how well they'll bake, but I'll be experimenting as soon as I can, and will report my findings. I figured I'd put it out there in case anyone else wants to play guinea pig.
