Holiday in Georgia then off to Warwickshire!
« on: October 19, 2009, 12:32:37 PM »
READY SET GO!

A few/ meaning 4 weeks till my fiance comes to join me in Georgia for our holiday. Then we will be off together to start our new life.

However before going over we are going to have one fun filled break. Stone Mountain for starters which is very interesting and we will be there for there Christmas light show which I highly recommend. Then its off to Savannah Ga, which is a great place all around very historical, and if you like a good ghost story then your in for a treat. Tybee Island is just about 15 mins or so outside of Savannah and is a peaceful place for a nice beachy walk. Our final journey will be Callaway Gardens which will also be having a light show for Christmas and good food at all these wonderful places. So the in between times will be filled with movies, celebrations, and see you soons.

Hope everyone else has a great holiday season planned. Would like to hear of some good places. Ya never know they may be next on the list to visit.

for those interested in the places Ive mentioned here are a few lins:

Have fun!  I'm from Athens and went to uni in Decatur/Druid Hills.  My grandmother lived in Stone Mountain, right across SM Freeway from the park, and you could see the fireworks  - and sometimes parts of the laser show! - from our bedroom windows!

Ya know Meg Ive never been to Stone Mountain till my fiance came. We had a great time. He is a bit of a walker and nearly killed me coming down that mountain. Im just glad we didn't walk up it! :o

I don't know alot about Georgia, I grew up in Oklahoma and never adjusted to life here. So Im just now discovering what GA has to offer. Two other places he nearly killed me at were Providence Canyon down south GA and Amicalola Falls. Jeez you should see how many steps there are I think it was over 400 :o. We still had a good time.

Lots of stuff where he lives and in Wales. I have loads of pics.  So how do you like where you are? Any great adventures to tell?

LOL - I climbed up Stone Mountain (and back down again) for the first time with the Brownies scouts back in the third grade!  I have a certificate and everything. ;D  The laser show used to be a LOT more, umm....Southern, shall we say? than it is now - it's been tamed down a good bit.  And I love Amicalola - I used to go camping up there all the time.

I live in Teesside.  If you don't know what that means, you soon will. ;D  Plenty of gorgeous places a short drive away (the Lakes, the North York Moors, Northumberland, Cumbria, Whitby, Scarborough, etc.) but Teesside itself doesn't have a lot to recommend it. ;)

Now missy do you have this certificate encased and on a wall for everyone to enjoy  ;)Sounds like I need to envoke my 3rd grade inner me. However, then I will be asking how much longer, oh wait I did that and I was 30 ahh well, I guess I never really did grow up ;)
I even slipped on one part, that mountain is a hazard if not careful. Got to watch your footing. The mountain is slick in parts. So you say the lazer show is tame now, well jeez, lol my fiance busted out laughing at parts of it that were on the net. Thank goodness we saw the Christmas one, still had some in it but oh well.

Me thinks there is an inner joke about this Teesside of yours the way you laughed. Well my fiance is already asleep so must wait till he is on tomorrow. So how in the world do you pronounce it, is it like saying Teaside?  I see that youre very far away but I will enjoy talking to you loads.
