Sadly, we're having ongoing issues with posting nastiness in some limited areas, namely Visas board, where people ask and worry about the most stressful aspects of making the move, as well as Pettifog and Grievances on some hot topics. This sets a tone for other areas and likely scares newcomers off.
After
repeated yet ignored reminders to calm down, to ignore posts that one finds annoying and to answer questions politely or don't bother at all, we're implementing a board ban system to try to prevent having to fully ban users who only seem to have a problem in limited areas.
If you ignore moderators requests, you risk losing posting access to a board either temporarily or permanently, decided on a case by case basis.
