Thats it!  I am having FOS sans egg for dinner :)   (and I'll accidentally make extra cheesy bread pieces!)

If someone handed me FOS with an egg I would cry.

I'm very strange, what can I say?  :)

He's never been to France, he had the soup in Spain, but I think the link you posted is something similar to what he was on about. He says the egg is the best thing about the soup. Hmmm. I say FO soup sans egg, and then maybe try something like this one you posted next time. I'm just terrible at poaching eggs, even though I know it should be easy!

The thing is, are you sure it isn't a creamy soup? A creamed onion soup with poached egg would be delish, it just adds to the richness...I feel a French onion with a poached egg would be much less delicious!

He did just say onion soup, so I assumed French Onion, but I guess you might be right. I will look into it.

Spanish onion soup with an egg.

Thanks! I saw that in an earlier post. I will take it under consideration, it actually sounds pretty easy when I thought it looked complicated at first. But this leads me to believe he hasn't ever actually HAD French Onion soup with the cheesy toast and must therefore try it instead!  I thought he was thinking of the exact same soup with with an egg on it, because I kept talking about the toast and he said there was a slice of toast in it, but this all makes sense now.  :)

I'm not preggers (surprise, surprise) and I am craving biscuits, donuts, meat loaf, french onion soup to name but a few.

So it is your fault.  ;)
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

Now I want some, too!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
