HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!!!
« on: October 31, 2009, 12:57:19 PM »
I hope everyone has a good evening!

Costumes, apple cinnamon candles and a fire burning, homemade chicken and dumplings, apple bobbing, pumpkin carving, ghost-shaped marshmallow roasting, and fireworks (for Guy Fawkes Night - we combine the 2 holidays) is happening at ours  ;D   Oh, and, a few games of Wii   ;)

I'll be sharing a toffee apple cider with hubby after the little black cat has gone to bed and probably watching the Great Pumpkin
Maroon Passport Club!

YAY!!! We've had 4 lots of trick-or-treaters so far. We've had my neighbours grandkids (skeleton and a pumpkin), a ghoul sort of guy (asked him what he was and he said, "um  :-\\\\ " LOL ), a glow in the dark witch and the cutest twin vampires you've ever seen. Wanted to put them in my pocket.

We're nearly out of sweets and it's only 7:15!!  :o

Just had our 6th and we are out of sweets. I've been handing out handfuls as I wasn't expecting this many. Have sent Mr GJ to the shop for more.

Just wait, we probably won't get anymore now  ::)

One of our neighbours said, "Max was really nervous, so we came to you first. You're American, we knew you'd be doing it" LOL

We live in an ex-mining village in Derbyshire - we had 40 kids at our door last night. All very nice and friendly. We had a porch light, a sign in the front garden, a ghost banner on a front window, lights in the porch and 3 pumpkins outside.
We spent two weeks this month travelling through Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana and loved the way the houses were decorated. We did note that several towns we were in had very few sidewalks and no easily available alcohol which made it much easier to leave decorations in the front garden safely.

We had two knocks at the door last night; 1 group of two and 1 group of 3.

Glad I bought some good candy. Me and the boy are going to have a pig out sesion today.  ;D
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

You go, boy LOL

We had 9 groups altogether. I sent the Mr out for more sweets, thankfully!

We've never had that many. I'm chuffed to bits! :D

We had a lights out last night which means we didn't want to attract treaters because of various reasons. Let me try to list some, flue epidemic, car loads of treaters coming in from other neighborhoods, we had treats but I got into them big time before the big night ;D. So we didn't answer the door.

A side note, there is a dentist here who is offering $5 per pound for any child who wants to sell the candy they got.

WOW. Insane. I always have our house decorated outside...3 Halloweens/years in the UK, and not one yet  :-[  I think we need to move.

I was surprised, too. I was cooking dinner so couldn't hear the door most times, so my husband would call out to me when they knocked, knowing how much I love answering the door to them ;D Best. Halloween. Ever ;D
