Is there no Peppermint Mocha in the UK??? That is my seasonal FAVOURITE!!! It marks the start of the season for me.

I was SOOO excited to see my first red cup the other day :)

They may have peppermit syrup that they can add to a Mocha, it doesn't hurt to ask.  ;)

I've done this loads - all year long.  It's fine - they do Dark Cherry Mocha here instead of the Peppermint.

As a former Starbucks employee, I can say it depends on where you got your coffee in the US.

Most stand alone stores in the US use the same cream as they do here, actual cream in a aerator can thing.  However, in the stores that based in Barnes and Nobles, and some other shops, they use the normal readi-whip type stuff.

I worked in a B&N and was constantly reassuring people that we did not use real whipped cream and it was low fat.  Lots of people didn't want the full fat cream.  I am not sure why we didn't use the full fat stuff, just that I was told none of the B&N store shops did.

I'm not a fan of the full fat whipped cream. I just don't like the taste/texture and it makes me feel sick to my stomach afterwards... I worked at a Java City, and we used the *from a can* stuff. I really like that on my mocha. The real stuff - not so much.

Maybe I'm weird, but I rather like the Dark Cherry Mocha, but that's probably just me...  I also love getting Eggnog Hot Chocolates this time of year - yumm!   :D

I like the Dark Cherry Mocha too, but cherry and chocolate definitely seems to be one of those things you either love or hate.

Yes, very much so.  No pleasing some people!  My BIL absolutely *hates* fruit & chocolate combined regardless of fruit.

However, I must say I don't care for chocolate covered cherries over here: I think the Brandy just ruins it, I much prefer a more sugary syrup instead.   :)

I had a tip from a Starbucks Barista today. To have Toffee Nut Lattes year round, just order a latte with 1/2 caramel & 1/2 Hazelnut syrup & Add Cream. It was even more yummy (and cheaper too).

To get this at the regular latte price, just use a starbucks gift card and register it on the Starbucks.co.uk website and you get free syrups, extra shots & cream! So a £3.45 coffee cost me £2.65!  ;D

I didn't ask about the Cherry syrup if it is available outside of Christmastime. My local SBucks had de-Christmased and was back to normal decor & menu. But, my husband has discovered that he likes the mocha with Almond syrup. He says it tastes like Chocolate Marzipan!

I remember seeing the holiday syrups on sale in Starbucks, but I cant remember if it was in the US or UK.  At my local Starbucks they dont sell the bottled syrup.
