When he's eating ice cream, he'll dig out a big chunk from his bowl and then hold the spoon as he eats bites off it. Almost as if he's holding an ice cream cone.

That sounds just like my young 'un!

Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

I don't have a problem with eating with the hands -- particularly if it's a cultural thing. Why not?
DH has a weird habit -- not gross -- but weird.  When he's eating ice cream, he'll dig out a big chunk from his bowl and then hold the spoon as he eats bites off it. Almost as if he's holding an ice cream cone.

I still do this  ;D

We usually eat with our hands at home when we have Indian food.

It tastes better! :)

Colonel Sanders was onto something...

Incidentally I love the way a lot of places in Asia (even KFC) have hand washing facilities in the dining area. No need to go to the loo to wash one's hands and then navigate the germ laden door.

I love it too.  In India many people have small sinks in their kitchens/halls specifically for this.  It's great!

Kosher restaurants in the US (and I suppose in other countries) have this too, because you are required to wash your hands before you eat.

My favourite sushi place in San Diego would come round with warmed flannels or wipes in wrappers that smelled nice. I love eating with my hands when with my family in Chicago, and it's "just us", and we're having comfort food. I've always thought it made life easier, and yes, the food tastes better!  ;D

I was at a sushi place in Del Mar where they come around with the warm towels. That's nice :)

You know what I don't like.  When people eat crisps and they do it with a real glazed look on their faces and they're just robotically putting crisps in their mouths and crunching and then shaking the bag.  I HATE when they shake the bag. And then reach way to the bottom and crunch the bag all up. And then shake the bag again.  It makes me want to rip it out of their hands.

OMG, DB totally does that. I think it's funny though. Like he's in the zone or something when he's eating them! Haha! This made me smile :)

Okay I've got a list of things that gross me out and I'm guilt of at least one of them:

1. Eating in bed
2. The noise the cat makes when she's in heat
3. When my grandpa used to take his false teeth out and flick the food off of them
4. When the cat gets on the table and starts cleaning herself  [smiley=puke.gif]

Lol those are all disgusting. I can relate with the cat cleaning herself. I have a dog but it's equally disgusting. Thankfully he can't climb on the table to do it hehe.

The one thing I can think of (right now) that disgusts me is when men tell me their sexist beliefs and expect me to just be okay with them and agree...ugh. Mostly things like "I think women should just stay home and take care of kids, what's the point of them going to uni if they just end up being mothers?" or "Women just don't belong on the road, they cause all the accidents" OMG I'm getting so angry thinking about it. I also hate that phrase "just end up being mothers" mothers have the hardest jobs of all!

i remember back in the US, I was 18 at the time, and working at dunkin donuts. It was the midnight shift, and I was in back making donuts for the morning. a customer walks in, and i come out to help him. This is how the conversation happened

Me: hiya, can i help you?
Him: No, you're a woman, I want help from a man
Me: yeah,........Ok.

and I walked away into the back and continued working, didnt help him, didnt tell a "man" to go out to assist him. Just ignored him. haha
