Huh. I never realized that people sometimes meant "not really" when they said "quite". If someone had told me that a meal was "quite nice" I would have thought that they meant it was pretty good. Learn something new every day.
Back on topic, I think a sentence like this might have made your co-worker sufficiently enraged:
"Seriously, dude, like totally not cool." Something I might have actually uttered at one point...I might make an effort to start saying "seriously" more often, just because it's kind of funny.

I never did say awesome very much, though. The adjective of choice when I was a kid was "sweet". Or "excellent".
