Since you don't live in that state and you don't earn income there you shouldn't be subject to any state tax.
It is the living there part that confuses me. If I have a drivers license from that state, doesn't it imply that I live in/am a resident of that state?

You don't live in the US either but you have a US Passport. ;D

If you don't feel comfortable using a DL from a state you don't live in go for a B drivers licence. :)
