What are you thankful for this year?
« on: November 17, 2009, 09:35:45 PM »
Since Thanksgiving is just over a week away, I thought it would be nice to have a thread about things we are thankful for this year  :D

For my part, I am thankful for my lovely husband and the life I have with him, for tolerant in-laws who have let us live with them for a year, for a job I enjoy doing, and for the people who love me and whom I love.

How about you?
On s'envolera du même quai
Les yeux dans les mêmes reflets,
Pour cette vie et celle d'après
Tu seras mon unique projet.

Je t'aimais, je t'aime, et je t'aimerai.

I am of course, thankful for my beautiful family, and good health. But I am most thankful that 2009 is almost over! Its been a bad bad year!!

(edited for spelling of the simple word year, which I spelled wrong. this is why I need a new laptop. The keyboard is spelling things wrong)

I'm thankful that I have a loving husband and a roof over our heads but mostly I'm grateful for the two blessings growing in my tummy. They took a long time coming.
There are two things in life for which we are never truly prepared:  twins.

I am thankful for feeling like my life has a purpose again.  After a year of being in a crappy, soul-sucking, dead end job followed by a summer of unemployment, uselessness, and incessant boredom, I'm happy to have a breath of fresh air.

I am also thankful for my incredibly supportive mother.  She's the best ever.

Loads, despite it not being a great year, in no particular order:
1. friends, family and hubby that make me laugh - sometimes to the point of pulling muscles
2. good food and drink with said friends, family and hubby
3. my general good health and the health of my loved ones, both friends and family
4. feel privileged to have such a good standard of living
5. finishing my part time degree, finally
6. feeling at peace with myself about doing less
7. work should improve for 2010
8. I have nearly been married 10 years and we get to plan a trip next year to celebrate after the proper anniversary

I'm thankful for so many things. Mainly, that I love living here. I guess it could've gone either way when I made the move, but I'm so thankful that it turned out to be the best thing I have ever done, along with marrying my husband, who has changed my life and made it much more worth living. I'm thankful for my stepson, who is teaching me a lot of patience and shows me a lot of love. I'm thankful for getting to travel a bit and experience some new places and cultures. I'm thankful I still have my job, which I almost lost this time last year. It bores me sometimes, but I have realised that overall, I actually really like my job, and as I go on, I get more and more to do at work to keep me busy. I'm thankful that I am able to afford driving lessons and I'm moving forward in my life here. I'm thankful that I have made some great friends this year, thanks to this forum!  ;D

Most thankful for finally finding my true love
(even though he'd been a friend for 10 years - sometimes these things have to hit you in the face :P)
marrying my true love

and finally living in my favourite city in the world - London

It can't get much better than that!

I am thankful for...

* My wonderful husband.
* The amazing life I have here with him - like everything I ever wanted (after many many years of complete sh*te) came true.
* That I've gotten to see so much more of the wide, wonderful world since moving here!
* Our cozy house.
* My fabulous friends - all of you!  :-*
* My brothers and their families in the US.
* That I live in a really cool city in this great country!
* We have the things we need.
* Reasonably good health.
* That my mom rests in peace now after suffering 30 years with a debilitating, degenerative illness - sure I miss her lots, but I am glad she is no longer suffering.

Oh yeah - two more...

* That I have dual citizenship!
* That I finally got my UK drivers licence this year.

I am thankful for:

-My wonderful husband who love me no matter what & always makes me feel safe & happy.
-My two amazing & loving kids. I couldn't ask for them to be any better.
-Our new house that I cannot wait to move into and start our lives together.
-That I got the email today saying that our passports are on the way.
-That I will be joining my husband in just a few weeks.
-My amazing in-laws - without their help, none of this would have been possible, well, I would still have my kiddies, but that's all... haha

I am very, very blessed!

I am also thankful for all of you here! Without the guidance and support of all of you, I don't know if I could get through this process. I hope that all of you have an amazing year filled with blessings and things to be thankful for!
