Rynn- I wanted to reply to you in the other thread but then lost it and can't find it.
It figures your roommates would want you to take care of the problem and put the pressure on you, but I wouldn't do anything for them.
As you've stated before, you're not the one on the lease, it's not technically you're apartment... you're basically in a room for rent type situation. IMHO, it's their responsibility to get it taken care of for you, it's their apartment. They would have to get it sorted in order to get someone else in there if you move, so they might as well get it sorted for you so they don't need to worry about finding another roommate.
