Feeling in Limbo

I feel like Tim and I are in limbo right now...sure, we got married, but now we're apart and doing the waiting game. Waiting on my new passport, waiting on all the documents to be together, then waiting for the visa to be issued, waiting to ship my stuff, waiting for me to arrive....

Sometimes I think it would have been easier to just have gone with the fiance visa!

Just needed to vent. And I know some of you know exactly how I feel.

That was me, a year ago.  I had just sent my application to the expediter after waiting nearly a month to get my marriage certificate, arrange money for the fees, etc.  Then I ended up having to wait 6 working days for my EXPEDITED application to be approved, what with the backup at the consulates and Thanksgiving.  Aaarghhh.  One of the lowest low points of my life.  But...a year later, things are immensely better.  Just keep yourself focused on the goal, enjoy your time in the US, last Christmas as a US resident, time with your mom, etc.

Becca I went through the same exact thing and I know how frustrating it can sometimes be.  The day that I had to say goodbye to my hubby (after JUST getting back from our honeymoon) was one of the saddest days of my life... all I wanted to do was be happy newlyweds together.

The waiting sucks, but in the end, it is all worth it!!! 

Awww Becca...not too much longer now.  My hubby and I were separated for a year after we got married before I moved ot the UK...and we only saw each other twice in that time period.  I definitely feel your pain!

Thanks. Fortunately, I filled ou the form to get the certified copy before the wedding and had my mom mail it off while we were on our honeymoon, so it arrived while we were away.  We decided to change my name on my passport since we knew I'd be spending Christmas in the US this year (my mom roped me into that promise last year and won't let me out of it even though I'm married now), so we're not behind on our timeline or anything, it's just frustrating.

Yep. That's what happened to us, too. We got back from FL on Sunday, Tim left on Monday.

Yes, the time waiting for visa approval is the absolutely longest time to have to endure, even though it really turns out to be the shortest.

But as everyone says, it is totally worth it in the end

Oh Becca, I am in the exact same boat with you! I told David that I hate this feeling of being in a holding pattern. We want to start living our lives. Thankfully I got the notice today that the kids' & my passports are on the way, so as soon as I get those I can submit our visa applications. It's just so hard to be apart. I don't know how those who have been apart for years have been able to handle it. But thankfully, the waiting will be over soon & we can find something else to complain about. haha

hang in there dear! Its tough, I mean my husband and I went through 2 years apart when I moved back Stateside but it is nothing compared to being MARRIED and being away from him, its been over a month and I have those "curled up in bed watching lifetime" moments. It will be better soon!

I absolutely HATED being away from Tim for Thanksgiving . Christmas is going to be even worse. Ugggh.

Xmas and New years will not be right but either way he is on the rig at xmas so I wouldnt see him that day anyway...I wanted to go over for new years but then I wold have to turn around come back and and then go right back...

I am not good at this...At least we can skype every night while he is home - that helps but soooo not the same

Gah, I know what you mean. I love Skype and I love video chat, but it's not the same!

Still in limbo...

I hope you get the last of the paperwork you need soon so this limbo feeling can go away!
