Lol!!! Hi E!!!! I miss you! Thank you for making me laugh in a depressing thread, I needed that!

I'll forgive you!  ;)
:)

I have so many others on my list. But the strangest one, that I don't understand is Die Hard 2!? I cry at the end when they are landing the planes.

I like the movies that are made to make you cry, because sometimes you just need too. That is when I grab one to help get the tears rolling.  I'm due a big cry soon. I think I'll pick a movie on one of these lists to help ;)

Hmmmm... don't know about Die Hard 2 ;) though I've never seen it!

I know I've got loads more too!

I think most people hate it, but it's my favorite one. I have all three, wait, it's four, right. I just bought in Blu-ray, right in time to watch for the holidays.

Sophie's Choice... so sad!! And although I've never seen it, surprised noone mentioned Leaving Las Vegas because I heard it was incredibly depressing.

The Green Mile

and more recently: Seven Pounds.

Saw the latter in the cinema, and I could hear was sobbing coming from all directions. In the ladies room afterwards everyone was still crying.

That one left me cold, regrettably.  Much as I love Will, I did not like that film.

Well, I watched Stephen King's The Mist which was pretty much standard King.  But in the very last 2 minutes of the film, something happens( I wont say what in case someone hasnt seen it /wants to) that left my jaw on the floor, tears in my eyes, screaming "WTF" at the tv for about 5 minutes after the movie had ended.  It was one of the most depressing endings to a movie I have ever seen.

I know! DH and I were pretty shocked. That ending actually redeemed a pretty silly film though.

I always end up watching tear-jerkers on the plane to the US. Things We Lost In The Fire killed me!

I think though, the saddest movie for me is Come Back Little Sheba.  :\\\'(

Terribly depressing. In America was sad, too.

I cry at the end of almost every Cold Case.  Not kidding.

Ahhhh! Me too! The music gets me every time!

Add Requiem for a Dream to the list. I felt like I had been hit by a bus after seeing it.

I thought it was a very good film - but very very depressing.

I also saw it just a few days before my last return to America, so I was depressed to begin with! So I may have taken it a little harder than I normally would.  ;)

I was screaming WTF at that ending too because they completely destroyed the book and the entire feel of the whole thing by turning into the worst possible, most Hollywoody, cynical ending ever.

Damn I loved that novella.  The worst thing was that Darabont, the director, was then on TV being interviewed about Shawshank and how he made it because it broke the cynical mold of Hollywood.  My poor DH had to change the channel because I started ranting at the TV.

Pretty much just like I am doing now.   ;D

I need a magic brain eraser that you can stick up your nose to wipe out horrible things people do to your favorite books and movies.  There goes Alien3 and the ending of the Mist and so many others.

Disney's UP! (first part was sad enough to have me and the wee boy with wet eyes)

A friend of mine said she and her daughter were in tears when they saw that one.

I cry every time I watch Nestor the Long Eared Christmas Donkey, have done so since I was little.

We watched "Tony Manero" last night, and that was pretty grim. Not as bad as "Roberto Succo" though.

I'm a huge sap for UP! as well.  We saw it in the theatre and I was a wreck.  We bought the DVD and I'm a wreck when we watch it.  What can I say? Ellie was my grandma and Carl IS  my grandpa.  My grandma passed in March.  Hit too close to home for me.

Let's see.. Homeward Bound.  I just die when the dogs come bounding over the hill toward home.  Shadow.. sigh.  What a great dog.

I'm a huge sap at movies.

Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…
