Definitely the latter. One of my biggest beefs with the US right wing is the insane obsession with religion and the inexplicable need to tie it in with every political issue under the sun. It's nice that neither side of the political spectrum does that in the UK.

Agreed! I think my views have always been the same, I'm just more at home here with those views than I was in Texas!  ;)

I'm still very liberal, but I certainly am more passionate about politics and certain issues. (healthcare especially).

Mostly, I have come to realise that America is not the centre of the universe.

It changed my view of football/soccer.  I actually don't mind it now...although I will always prefer American football!!

Living here has changed my attitude toward food, especially. I've really come around to cooking at home, which is so much nicer than eating crappy fast food every day the way I was doing before I moved here. Sure, I enjoyed it the week I was in Texas recently, but at the same time, I really just wanted a good, home-cooked meal, and I couldn't wait to get back home and cook something wholesome. I didn't feel sad at all to leave behind Taco Bell and all of those places, because I realised that my own cooking is actually so much better than that kind of crap! (In my opinion, of course!  :P)

Moving here made me realise how un eco-friendly I was before. I thought I was doing OK in America, but compared to here, I was using up lots of planets.  I love local food and walking and composting and recycling and re-using my bags, etc etc etc. I've still got my vices and I'm far from being a perfect eco-warrior, but I am far better than I was in the US.
I've never gotten food on my underpants!
