Oh we looked for one of these for yeeeeeeears and never ever found one in the UK. I eventually just bought one at Bed Bath & Beyond in the states and stuffed it full of clothes in my suitcase. I get so many comments on it when other people see mine, everyone wants one!

They have a Nigella Lawson one on Amazon - well, it's a cake plate with a glass dome. And no, Bob, Nigella is not included.  :P

[smiley=bigcry.gif]  Probably just as well. Wouldn't be much cooking going on. Food wise that is.  ;D

Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

In case people are looking, there's another one here that costs quite a bit less than the Nigella version. Lakeland also does one, but theirs is acrylic rather than glass.

Oh! I love that one even more! YAY! It's on my dream kitchen list.  ;) Which probably won't start being fulfilled until after the holidays, unfortunately.

Ah no, I thought she was looking for a cake safe - the Tupperware kind with a lid that snaps securely on so you can just pick it up and travel with it! Sorry my misunderstanding, as that's the sort we were looking for that we couldn't find anywhere.

March 09 - Citizenship!
July 09 - bone marrow transplant :(
18 Sep 10 - wedding!
Mar 12 - half marathon in Paris! 1:47:12!

Ah. Well, I'd like one of those, too.  :) I saw one somewhere, but it must have been in the US where I saw it.  :(

I know Lakeland has those! I have one, but I got it at a local kitchen shop. I haven't noticed a shortage of them in the UK!

Ohh this is an exciting topic!
Going from my massive kitchen with a eat in area that can hold my 54X54 inch table with 8 bar height chairs to a mini kitchen with NO table area...

Dream Kitchen:
1. Island with butcher block top for prepping - built in knife caddy
2. double wide sink with wide window in front of it
3. GREAT dishwasher (I will not have one)
4. Hidden convention oven
5. double door fridge
6. calphalon pots & pans - not bringing mine
7. every gadget known to man and its own drawer to keep them in..I LOVE gadgets
8. Pyrex glass mixing bowls and mixing dishes
9. Tupperware storage containers in all sizes
10. large pantry with organized storage
11. kick ass blender
12. Breakfast bar area with stools - area for the kids to do homework and have snacks
13. LOTS of kitchen cabinets with pull out rails for easy access

Oh I am sure there is more but this is my fantasy right?

I shall have to revisit this thread sometime in the new year, after I've had a big clearout in our kitchen!  We have too much stuff.  :P

Things we use all the time:  electric coffee maker, kettle, bread machine, microwave, food processor, toaster, hand mixer (I wish - a stand mixer!).  I recently bought a small slow cooker.

When it comes to kitchens, you can't have too much stuff! Even if I only use something once every 4-5 years (i.e., crème brûlée blowtorch), I'd chop off my right arm before I'd part with it!  ;D

Oh I'm just talking about stuff that someone dumped off on us as they were leaving the country - not something I picked out myself.  I need to clear out before I can fill back in with things that I want & love.

Yes that's exactly it! :) funny I know we even looked in a Lakeland shop, too, but that was a few years ago. Now I know where to point people who want mine!
