Is This True?
« on: December 12, 2009, 11:01:18 PM »
In England (Anywhere really) Do they really have "Wizards and Witches" Shops? Where are they? How Exclusive are they?

If Someone can answer that it'd be a great help. Thanks!!! :)

Yes they do, how else would wizards and witches get candles, incense, wands, jewellery etc?

Not very exclusive at all.

Well, first you have to find this pub called The Leaky Cauldron... :p

Once you find the Leaky Cauldron, take your first left on to Diagon Alley. Around the corner is Knockturn Alley. They've got everything. But IF you have never been, I highly suggest you don't go alone.

What is it you are looking for in particular? We've got shops, cafes, schools, you name it.

I'm just down the road from Hogwarts school which incidentally was voted as the 36th best Scottish educational establishment in an online ranking, outranking Edinburgh's Loretto School.

If you're ever up in Scotland, give me a shout and I'll take you to the most exclusive tea shop ever - Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop. It has the best pumpkin juice I have ever tasted. They also do chocolate frogs, cauldron cakes, Liquorice Wands, Jelly Slugs, blood flavoured lollipops and the best Cockroach Cluster this side of Godric's Hollow.

But to answer your question, we really do have "Wizards and Witches" Shops.
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

Wizard and Witches shops? There are "new age" shops where you can buy various objects for practicing Wicca, if that's what you mean?

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering what the heck this thread is about! I am curious, though!

This thread is making me giggle.

I thought this was what the OP was asking about at first.

Then, out of morbid curiosity, I Googled "wizards and witches shops."

First hit: Answers.com, where a poster asks, "Where do wizards and witches shop Harry Potter?"

Now I'm thinking OP needs directions to Hogwarts. :)

;D If this is the case, I can tell you it's about 400 miles northeast of London and 60 miles south of the border of Scotland and the train ride takes about 4 hours from London and just over an hour from Edinburgh. I don't believe that there are any Harry Potter related shops or merchandise in or around Alnwick Castle where the movies were filmed. There are no witch and wizard shops anywhere around here, and nothing Harry Potter related in the gift shop I went into in the castle's gardens. I haven't actually been inside the castle but I seriously doubt they would have anything Harry Potter related in there. Sorry if that's a serious disappointment to anyone!
