What's a good school for a graduate degree in psychology?
« on: December 14, 2009, 02:27:55 AM »
Hi everybody,

After the Fort Hood massacre, I resurrected my idea of going for a graduate degree in psychology in order to provide counseling to veterans suffering from PTSD.  I'm interested in going to the UK for it just because I've heard the programs are as good as the U.S., but require less time to complete.

Does anyone have any recommendations?  I'm pretty flexible (think Gumby) as to where I end up.

A bit late, but you want a course recognised by the British Psychological Society:
http://www.bps.org.uk/

to start to become a psychologist or the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy to become a Counsellor or Therapist:
http://www.bacp.co.uk/

To understand the process of becoming a psychologist:

or

Counsellor or Therapist:
http://www.prospects.ac.uk/p/types_of_job/counsellor_job_description.jsp

For undergraduate, here's a table from The Guardian:

Hope that helps!
