Honestly, I think it's really the thought that counts.  I know my sister, a school counselor, is grateful for anything her students give her (And she gets a lot)  Even the home baked stuff she can't eat. (She has an intolerance)

It's just really lovely knowing you are thought of and appreciated :D

That's a good point about home baked stuff (or even store bought) and intolerances.  My Playgroup Leader is lactose & gluten intolerant and my Deputy is gluten intolerant.  About half the gifts we've had so far one or both can't eat (including some gorgeous cupcakes one Mum made, I think she does bespoke ones).

What about homemade ornaments made by the child? They'd have fun and surely a package would yield enough for teachers

I agree, Stacey. My real favorite gifts were the cards and pictures that the kids and parents gave me telling me how much I was appreciated. I still have all of those.
