The rubber / eraser thing reminds me of when i worked in an ofiice in Australia. I'd been there a couple of days and the manager, a lady in her late 50's, walked out onto the sales floor and said ''can someone bring me some 'durex' quickly please''... :o

Durex - UK - the most popular brand of condom

Durex - Australia - selotape / scotch tape

I was almost walking towards her with my wallet out.  :-[

;D

Hehehehe!!!  ;D

Reminds me of the first time DH's new American colleague was in studio and one of the students asked him if he had a rubber!  He didn't know what to think.

LOL! Well, at least I knew it was the usual term, but it still felt too awkward to ask someone for a rubber!  :)

That is gross, I've never heard it called that! When I was at school people used that word to refer to ahem menstruation, as in "Are you on your blob?" It would always make me cringe!

That's even grosser! Yeah, for some reason, the local term for condoms is blob. Don't ask me why. Geordies / Northumbrians come up with some crazy things.  :P

I like that! I nearly fell out laughing when my work colleague said "I'm on me rags!" HAHAHA!
