GREAT NEWS! Interview Date *and* AOS paperwork!
« on: August 03, 2004, 03:18:53 PM »
This morning I got my brother's paperwork in the mail - he is our joint sponsor and filled out all the I-864 (Affidavit of Support) junk for us. :) Whee!!!!

Then I emailed the embassy to say "Hey, I know you're processing apps made on or before mid-June, you got ours June 3rd, so when is our interview, huh?" (but I said it much nicer) - They emailed me back within 2 hours saying it is scheduled for September 1 at 8am!!!!! SWEEEET!!!!!!

sweet sweet sweet!!!

We still don't know exactly what is going on with my husbands job - either his current company is transferring him or we're going over with another company that is eagerly pursuing him - either way we'll know in a month, eh?

SWEET SWEET SWEET!!!!!!

I DON'T BELIEVE YOU! :) :) :)
Of course, I won't believe it until I've gone through it, taken at least 3 or 4 breaths and realized it wasn't so bad!

So happy about it, and SO not believing that it is happening! :)
Can I use any more explamation marks?! :)

Off to re-read everyone's interview stories!!!

Sarah...congrats!  :D I am so happy for you! Since I filled our paperwork just a short time after you I am hoping we will hear soon and possibly have a date in mid September.

Question - when you emailed them did you state a case number or anything? I ask because I would like to do the same in a week or so but am not sure if I need a reference number or something when I inquire?

Thanks, Julie

Nope! They gave me a case number a while ago but I didn't even think to mention it. I gave them my full name & DOB, plus my husbands full name & DOB, plus our address, and they found it easy peasy. I've emailed them twice - the first time they said "Sorry, don't have the interview date yet please wait" so I wanted a week and sent it again - this time with the reply I wanted to hear! :) I'd wait a week or 2 and email them, you only filed 3 weeks behind us so they should have something by at least 3 weeks time - though they seem to be making good time. :)

Congratulations!  How exciting!

Our interview is Friday, August 27, so you guys are just after us.

It is hard to not be nervous.  I'm so worried that they'll find some reason to deny us.  Silly, when there are so many reassurances from people who've been through it!

Good luck and I'm sure you'll be fine!

WOOOOO HOOOOO!  ;D

No one knows your relief better than we do!

And you'll be FINE! As long as you're organized, and have all your ducks in a row, the day is a breeze...and we KNOW all your duckies are quacking in harmony as we speak!  ;)

Please feel free to ask Laurie or me if you guys have any questions as well...

YAY for you!
Brooke  :)

Yay! Congratulations  ;D

Ditto to what Brooke said....

It really isn't as bad as you think, you'll be fine, but I know you won't believe us until it's over... I know I didn't even though everyone was telling us that.

As Brooke said; if anyone has any questions about the interview please feel free to ask  :)

Laurie

Thanks for the info regarding the email Marlespo.

I am looking forward to going to the web site this Friday to see what "date" they are working on this week.  They seem to be very efficient in keeping the message up to date.

Congrats again!   ;)  I am soo looking forward to getting our appointment date.

Ahhh, I was just on Target.com dreaming of the day I can walk back into the store and go a little crazy!   ;)

I know - I sneak peeks at Target.com all the time - sometimes its a good thing sometimes its a bad thing. :) BTW - can you post the specific site you go to to check the application dates? I'd like to post it in the info thread...
